Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall star in this modern day Fatal Attraction-esque movie about a couple unable to have kids who welcome a surrogate into their home. But of course this is Hollywood so nothing goes quite to plan and before you can say damn skippy, the soon to be mom becomes enamoured with the husband.See that wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact she's a complete psychotic, but how do you combat such a person when they're carrying your child? We've seen this before, near enough this entire film to be honest but here it's done competently enough.Morris Chestnut tends to always play the same brooding character (And does here) and Regina Hall is someone I cannot take seriously anymore after her zany stint in the Scary Movie franchise! I expect her to break out into some stereotypical satirical crazy expletive filled rant and find myself almost dissapointed that she doesn't.When the Bough Breaks lacks in originality but does have its moments, sadly not enough to raise the bar above distinctly average. The Good:Morris ChestnutHas a couple of interesting momentsThe Bad:Regina HallSeen it all beforeThings I Learnt From This Movie:When a girl hits on you keep it a secret from your wife, what could possibly go wrong?Moral of the story, don't have kids.

While I can be honest and say this is not an A+ movie, I definitely don't think it is bad either. If you saw the previews, you know exactly what you were in for. Because of that, I think the movie was pretty good.I think I enjoyed the movie so much because of the actors. I adore Morris Chestnut & Regina Hall, even if their acting was just slightly better than everyone's else and that's not saying much. The problem, however, is that this scenario is a little tired at this point. It reminded me the whole time of Obsessed with Idris Elba, Beyonce & Ali Larter. Only, when I saw Obsessed, being in my early 20's, it was the first I had seen of this type of movie, so to this day I love it and actually want to watch it now after seeing this one. I personally prefer Obsessed because it's just a bit more fun, I'll take Beyonce as the sassy, bad-ass housewife over Regina's demure, almost helpless career woman any day. Ugh and that whole husband hiding the other woman's advances from his wife because he can "handle it" narrative is so stupid I don't see why it's keeps being used. What would have made a more interesting movie, he tells Regina the minute it starts happening, the two of them continue to play along and eventually turn the tables on the surrogate. That would have made it a great movie. All in all it was a beautiful movie, the settings and imagery were nice. Not to mention the actors, especially the surrogate were hot! I'm a woman and came for Morris but the surrogate was so sexy, even while pregnant. She was the only thing that kept me interested. Not great enough to buy but definitely good enough to rent and watch at home. Unless you've seen this scenario one too many times, then I wouldn't recommend it. Like I said though, if you've seen the trailer, you already know what's going to happen. If you watch and expect anything else, you will be disappointed but that is not the movies' fault.

I have to agree with the film critics on this one. Felt like I have already seen this film, but it turned out to be a very familiar thriller theme. It had plenty of issues and the first thing was the main plot in which the story built on. The mother-child connection is a very sensitive matter and that's where the film got stumbled. Even though they wanted to do film on that, they did not convince with the portrayed of the surrogate mother. From the entertainment perspective, it lacked the thriller big. The climax was all the sudden and then it ended just like that.At first I thought it might be a remake, but it was inspired or borrowed the theme from elsewhere. This psychological-thriller focused on to tell the tale of a wealthy childless couple. They decide to hire a young and beautiful Anna to be their surrogate mother. When everything was going very well, Anna's crush on the man she's carrying a baby begin to blow the things off. So now what happens to the couple, Anna and the baby revealed in the final segment.Thankfully, this is not the worst film of the year. I have even worse than this. But this can be easily a skippable one. There's no complaint over the actors, they had given what the characters demanded. Rich in quality, not a bad film from the technical aspect. Those are the area where it got scored a few points from me. If the screenplay had developed well, the film would have been in a different league. Particularly, I did not like the lack of diversity, looked like a black film for the black viewers. There are lots of similar films which are much better than this one that you could try.4/10

Overall, it's not a bad flick. It's designed for people to yell out "Don't go into that room!" and it's fun if you take it in that content.Sexual chocolate, Morris Chessnut is making himself out to be the King of these types of films (Hope he's making good cash off of it as I think I saw his name on the credits as a producer). He's plays a well off business man with a loving wife who have been trying to have a baby, but when they end up going to seek out a young girl to carry the baby for them, they end up picking a wolf in sheep's clothing.I went to see this because I notice they're have been a string of them that were very decent (Mostly thinking of No Good Deed, with Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson), but this is not as good as the others. It's a very sexy film. Regina Hall and newcomer, Jaz Sinclair were very sexy. Not as sexy as Chestnut of course, who the ladies all came and spent money to see him act like a wooden log. I've seen him act but it's been a long time since he's been nothing more than a sexy supporting actor to get women to buy tickets (Not saying that's a bad thing ladies just saying).Overall, it's straight-to-video crap not worthy of the theaters.
