This is one of those movies that didn't get enough attention. I don't know what happened, how I missed hearing about it when it came out, maybe I was in a cave or something. I saw it last year on DVD when a friend told me about it. I really loved it, and I haven't forgotten it. In fact, just this morning, for reasons I can't explain, it came to me again and I decided to take the time to come to IMDb and write my applause for it.Artists do not get enough positive feedback. The world is full of meanspirited critics, gossipers and hecklers. Artists simply do not get enough positive feedback. So I want to take a few minutes today to say BRAVO!!! To the entire cast and crew -- this movie is great, all the way around. It makes you feel and think deeply. It's memorable. It is everything a good movie should be! Thank you for your artistry and perseverance. The entertainment industry is a tough, crazy, freaky business. I love movies!! And this one is worth watching and worth mentioning to others.Put it in your queue!

I can't believe the number of gushing prior comments for this snooze-fest.Okay, I get the story: a woman whose relationships are negatively affected by the failures of her parents' and grandparents' relationships. A decent enough premise. The result, however, was dreadful. Stunted dialog, surreal locations, and a near absence of plot add up to 90 minutes of nothing much. I could have more profitably spent my time sleeping. With the appearance of bottles of Coors Light every few minutes I began to wonder if the brewery was financing the film. But it's not possible. Coors Light commercials have superior story lines.

Ashley Judd used to be one of my favorite actresses until Kiss the Girls and pretty much everything that followed. Come Early Morning is nothing new nor does it try to be but what it does is deliver solid performances from every single person on the screen. Judd plays Lucy a smart trash talking train wreck of a human being who cannot connect emotionally with the opposite sex that is until someone gives her a little nudge and things begin to come together for her. This movie falls somewhere between the undercooked Sherry Baby & the horrible abomination The Holiday. Which is to say that Morning plays it straight for a more direct approach which is way more satisfying in the end then either two movies mentioned above. Come Early Morning is a no bull no brainer that succeeds by not talking down or at its intended audience. Im hoping this marks a return to form for Judd. Cant wait to see her next one Bug looks amazing. For now though check out Come Early Morning directed by Chasing Amy star Joey Lauren Adams and starring Laura Prepon(70's Show)Diane Ladd,Tim Blake Nelson,Jeffrey Donovan(Blair Witch 2)& Pappa Titus/Mike Hammer himself Stacy Keach.

COME EARLY MORNING is not only a marvelous Joey Lauren Adams film, but is something which an audience can empathize with in watching the sun's rays fall upon Ashley Judd as she wakes up next to a man that she has long forgotten from the night before. With early morning, the film is about facing your demons and the truth about yourself and your past.Ms. Judd nails her character to a "T" and the supporting cast is really wonderful in bringing out her past and more importantly, about what she has attempted to accomplish in her young life in a male world. The film is painful, and yet also joyous, in watching the journey which Judd has taken in gaining self worth, and happiness. The last scene is rich and memorable for a film heavy with pathos, pain and anger.COME EARLY MORNING brings Ashley Judd front and center in her career as an important and talented actress in American cinema.
