A sequel to a horror movie as good as REC is a tall order. I myself went in with very low expectations. REC is simply one of the greatest zombie and found footage films of all time. But I was pleasantly surprised by this sequel. Like HALLOWEEN 2 or BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, this picks up the instant the original left off. Sometimes this tactic doesn't work, like in QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but here it drops you right into the action in familiar environs and the tension never lets up. In short, if you liked the original, then you'll like REC 2.

They did it again with this part, definitely one of the most successful sequels i have ever seen, especially when we are talking about the horror genre. The intensity was just as high if not higher that what we saw in the first film.Once again they jump straight into action without the usual horror film clichés. Style is the same as the first part, also filmed with a camera, the sleeting does not seem professional again, so it all feels so real and even though you can not see specific and detailed bloody scenes as you could in a Hollywood blockbuster you will not feel any less thrilled by it. I love how they managed to perfectly pickup where the first film ended and tie them both together, really feels like you were watching the same movie. Here a lot of the actual story gets revealed, which also makes you interested in how the story is eventually going to unfold. Again the screen time is fairly short, so it is impossible to get bored even for the laziest of viewers. Just like in the first movie we jump straight into action at about 12 minutes in, skipping all the nonsense.Do not be afraid of watching this film, only because the rating is not so stellar. People tend to always like part 1 better. This really feels needed and reveals a lot of information people were curious about after watching part 1. I can guarantee even people who say they do not like ''homemade'' horror films will enjoy this one, since it really feels realistic once again and does not fail to deliver the super intense atmosphere of any other highly successful horror film!

So it starts as a laughably bad sequel and instantly you think to yourself "They dropped the ball on this one. REC 1 was great, this one has SWAT going into the building, it's going to be really chill." (<-Not spoiler, that's the first thing you see in the film.) Trust the creators. As the film goes on, the main characters, the plan and progression and events are completely changed and suddenly you sit there, curled up in a ball, a baseball bat in your hand, lights on everywhere and Pokemon playing on your laptop. It's terrifying. It keeps the heart of the first film but ups everything a notch. One of the few, rare, excellent sequels.Great atmosphere, great acting (seriously, great acting, it's stupidly easy to believe them) and great execution.9/10 because I had to keep the lights on for 2 days in a row and couldn't sleep. And because it is a bit too supernatural for my linking. For reference, The Ring made me flinch twice. Good film, just not as scary as this one.

I loved the first Rec movie. It was like a movie sent from hell directly to my address to scare the living crap out of me which it did and i loved it so i could not wait for the sequel. The sequel picks up where the first movie ended, thats great. The movie goes on just as the first, but thats great. The movies ending is not like the first which showed up to be CRAP!! They ruined the whole "hoping for a trilogy" dream. But its worth being seen:) The acting is still pretty good and the thing about the Spanish language is that they talk so fast so it gives the movie a stres factor, pluss since you got running infected people chasing you, and they are fast f...... to so with the language it just makes your head stres but in a positive way. Its still scary and it leaves a shivering scar in the soul. Great work from the Spanish-horror-armada;)
