This review contains spoilers:I have been IMDb's member for 20+ years, never felt that I need to write a review but this movie is such a piece of trash and so wrong that I felt compelled to do so. The movie started really well but went downhill with he discovery of the poked holes in the condom. Let's put aside the odds of a getting pregnant with one time sex and how the lesbian found a condom in a moment's notice ( assuming it was in the medicine cabinet of the cottage , perhaps belonging to her dad who used to sleep around, really old condom?) My main issue with movie is that it is downplaying the sexual assault and movie ended up having a happy ending ???? I know it was consensual sex but with the use of condom to prevent STDs and unintended pregnancies. I agree that one must take some risks having sex with condom but intentionally poking holes should be considered criminal. If the roles were reversed, the guy poke holes in the condom or stealthing and as a result the female gets pregnant, would it still be considered OK? Reading some of the reviews, bragging about such a love story this is, I am deeply saddened how morally bankrupt our society has become!

Love thy sister, even and especially if you guys are different. Same goes for brothers I reckon and you kinda get both here (more or less). But this concentrates on relationships, friendships and life in general (growing old and other things). The script is good, with maybe the exception of some "quiet time", that could've been shorter, because we do get the point. But it's very well acted throughout and the point is still made. The script/dialog is good and the situations the characters find themselves in feel genuine. You might think that some things come off as strange, but you may not have the whole picture yet ... though some things are very obvious, it does not hurt (the flow of) the movie! Not out with big effects or anything, this is a slow burner

Love Rosemarie DeWitt. Love Emily Blunt. They're the sisters. The plot's nothing home to write about, its all about the interactions, the characterization and the acting - Emily Blunt has a good friend, played by Mark Duplass, basically a kinda jerk, who's going thru 'issues'. She allows him to stay at their family's log cabin, where he assumes he will be alone. But, the sister, Blunt's character's that is, is also there. Hijinks ensue? :-). Maybe. However, she's gay. Within a coupla days, Blunt lands. That's it.All my sarcasm apart, I loved watching the characters interact, in spite of the fact that this is mumblecore kingdom, and nothing much really happens. However, this one skirts the boundary that separates this one from made-for-Lifetime-TV fare, and does that with a flourish. I'm sure it has as much to do with the quality of acting on display as well. Blunt and Dewitt are (if they're not, they should be) every man's (wet0 dream, and putting them in the same movie, in roles that are as meaty as anything can get, is a stroke of genius. Duplass plays the perfect foil for both, and it helps that he's not all painted in white. Each character has shades of grey, that makes us dread about all the hurt that's gonna be going' around, and we want all of these characters to come out happy in the end, and that's pure, dumb naiveté. There are some who'll feel that this plot should have had more meat, but I was OK with what it was about. It's also a good addition to Lynn Shelton's filmography, which includes Humpday (Mark Duplass again) and Touchy Feely (DeWitt again).Perhaps there's no need to catch this one at the multiplex (And I'd argue against that, since the cinematography's right up there - the movie looks and sounds real good), but I'd definitely recommend one viewing.

This is not the worst indie movie made, but comes close. Story doesn't seem real and the actors trying to act NATURAL with over lapping dialog seems contrived and too artificial. Movies are always better with a written script and actors who don't pretend to be REAL. There's nothing more nauseating than this type of phony acting. The end of the film leaves on 'up in the air' which another drawback. Skip this one and stick to a main stream film. Forget these stupid indies that try to be real and look artificial instead. Better luck next time with these actors, especially Emily Blunt and Rosemarie DeWitt. The guy was terrible and should look into a job as a waiter. It didn't help that his character was dumb as could be. And what's with his wrecking his bike? Looks like more stupid improv.
