One of the best Disney movies I've ever seen, I give Minutemen a 9.3. The special effects were fair, and the plot gets two thumbs up. It shows different cliques, high school dilemmas, and plenty of hot guys. Luke B. was smart and sweet and Jason D. was a determined dreamer, and got along great and really clicked. I didn't much enjoy the kiss that 18 year old Kara C. (Jeanette) and Luke B. (Charlie) shared, for I'm a huge Luke Benward fan. I felt the pain of having an annoying sister and being an outcast, and could really relate to the troubles of teens. This movie has laughs, love, and real life. All of the things you need for a great flick to watch with friends and family. This movie won my heart and the hearts of many others.

This one is clever and funny and very well acted. The stories of time travel and and nerds becoming heroes have been done before, but seldom this well. The dialogue is fast-paced and funny, and unlike other teen comedies, is not totally dependent upon pop-culture references for its humor. The teen stars look like real high school students, and are not meant to look model perfect like in "High School Musical" or the "Cheetah Girls". (Okay, Chelsea Staub is the exception, but she's still perfect in her role). Like in real life, the good guys and the bad guys are not 100% good or evil, but are products of their decisions. But more than anything, this is a very entertaining and fun, smart movie. If Disney had tweaked the special effects just a little, it could have been released in theatres, and I'd bet it would be a box office hit. Who knows? They are making a theatrical sequel to "High School Musical", why not "Minutemen"? I'd pay to see it. Well done.

yes, it references "back to the future" a lot. personally i think its a lot more like the movie explorers or clock-stoppers.the main 3 crime travellers are OK characters. the main girl is also an OK character as is the kooky girl who always talks about birds and likes the science geek.i like the plot. because it's a Disney production it's incredibly saccharine, sickly sweet beyond belief at certain times.even the FBI don't seem overly scary, likewise that fact that a black hole may destroy all life as we know, even that was played down far too much.the film could have done the the element of excessive sweetness removed and it might have been a half decent movie. it could have done with a proper ending as well.worth a look if you can put up with the sickly sweetness that Disney imposed upon it.

The main characters in the cast were totally adorable, but it was kind of annoying when typical Disney made all the adults into stupid nut-cases who treat kids terribly. The plot was also fairly good, kids going back in time to save the geeks from embarrassment, but I think they got a little carried away towards the end with the black whole. When Charlie (the younger super-genius friend) ran into the FBI and suddenly exclaimed "four hours until the end of the world" I couldn't help but laugh, as it was just far too over-the-top. Overall the point of the movie was pretty cute though, accepting your past, learning popularity isn't everything, and loving your friends for who they are.
