Predator 2 (1990)

This sequel is awesome, people should stop comparing Predator 2 with the first installment since they are very different in sets and story! Special effects, actors, music and scenes are awesome, great FX as well for a movie from 1990! To the ones saying this movie sucks since Arnie is not in it, he wouldn't fit anyways... This is about regular bad-ass Cops that meet an Alien entity of which they know nothing about! That's the Whole idea! Using Arnie would spoil all of this, specially since he was a 'Mercenary' and weapon expert and he also already knew how to defeat the Alien threat! Also the set would be ridiculous... A guerrilla fighting an Aline threat in the middle of LA... Do people really think that would work? Get Real. Amazing movie and one of my all time favorite sequels!

Another movie trying to surn american cop into a hero. I am huge fan of predator but there were a few too obvious mistakes. First when the female cop standed against Predator at the subway he saw she was pregnant, the baby was turned with head up since I know baby's head must point down only if there is no pregnancy problem. I just could not miss the way Harrigan lost his gun at the slaughterhouse and Predator jut crashed it as it was made of plastic. Or it was. No matter how strong he is, iron hit on the ground can't turn into pieces. And btw when Predator throw that disc he cut the other cop on two, a bucket of blood just came from the upper part of the body, but it never came to the ground. Probably it was busy with something more important. But the big fail is coming at this site, why you should ruin it showing the actor playing the Predator? First movie never announced it and it was for better. Details are important, you know.

Never understood why this was not liked - it has a 25% score on RT, come on!!The acting is the first thing that gets you. Glover and Busey, then Paxton and of course the great Kevin Peter Hall.Then the mystery. They reveal just enough so you don't know what's happening but still get into the story and never lose attention. Some of the quotes are iconic; like mentioned by the other reviews: "Danny boy", "Do you want some candy", "I don't think he gives a $hit", "You can't see the eyes of the demon, until him come callin'", "Lions! Tigers! Bears! Oh my!", etc...And there are the weapons, that flying homing Discus grinder thing, or the folding javelin, or the cutting net. oh my!

The producers of Predator 2 went out of their way to produce a sequel that would be bigger, louder & even more egregiously violent than the original Predator, and they largely succeeded, especially on that last point.This one takes places on the chaotic streets of Los Angeles in the midst of a violent drug war between Mexican drug gangs and the Jamaican Voodoo Posse with another alien predator stalking for human trophies. Danny Glover is a veteran cop who chases down the predator and gets crossed with Gary Busey who plays a government agent who's following the predator for his own purposes. Busey had not yet gone mad at this point and was doing a real good job in these starched up villain roles, like this movie & Lethal Weapon.Good cast, good script and good production makes this a much better than average sequel and a film that's far better than the other predator and AVP sequels that followed. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one as well, and you won't even miss Arnold.
