It was a really good movie ... I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story gets progressively more complicated as the movie continues. Wahlberg does a great job filling the lead role and the bad guy's were good at their roles too.Great action flick!

I really expected more out of this movie.I like Mark Walberg generally. "Boogie Nights" was wonderful, and I also enjoyed "Happenings"."Contraband" doesn't match up against these other films. It's disjointed, choppy, and difficult to keep up with.If you like Mark, you'll probably enjoy this movie.Without him it wouldn't be much. That's starpower for you.It begins to pick up speed at about 1:20 minutes. This is probably a watch-it-once-and-forget-about movie, but you might like to watch it once.

Contraband is a very poor movie with an average storyline and a decent cast. It's simply a very typical action thriller, it's nothing more than that, it never try's to be anything more, the cast knew what is was and because of that they delivered very uninspired performances, there is nothing that makes this movie special or different whatsoever. I did think it had some good tense scenes that the movie needed more of, parts that got the audience nervous and anxious, those were certainly the best parts, I think the scene towards the beginning between Mark Wahlberg and Giovanni Ribisi was one of the best parts as we got to see the actors shine and it was quite intense. The films plot is definitely the weakest aspect of this, it starts off so simple that your brain isn't bothered to pay too much attention to it, and eventually becomes so convoluted that you can't keep up, it all comes together at the end but I was certainly scratching my head for a while. It's not terrible, but there is nothing special or unique about Contraband, which I think every movie should be in some way, and because of that I wouldn't recommend it. When his brother in law falls in debt with a murderous drug lord, a former smuggler returns to a life of crime. Best Performance: Mark Wahlberg Worst Performance: Kate Beckinsale

Contraband is a movie that only succeeds as a means to spend a session watching a movie, as I find it unimpressive and a bit of a drag at times. Of course if you like the genre you should by no means be deterred by my words and I'm sure you may enjoy it. The story follows an ex-smuggler (Wahlberg) as he tries to make an honest living but ends up back in the game to protect the ones he loves. The leading man is an approachable hero and one you can support, with his main character traits being his courage and boldness. The rest of the supporting characters handle the job well and as for the rest of the movie's elements, I would say they are presented with acceptable quality. Contraband isn't necessarily a movie you have to watch, but it shouldn't be avoided either. In short watch it if you want and you will be mildly entertained. I was.Rating 6/10
