Kham is the last in long line of guards who once watched over the King of Thailand's war elephants. 'THE PROTECTOR 2': Two and a Half Stars (Out of Five)Thai martial arts sequel to the 2005 hit 'TOM-YUM-GOONG' (known as 'THE PROTECTOR' in English). Thai superstar Tony Jaa returns to the title role of a fighter, now on the run from the law, who's trying to save his elephant (once again) from gangsters; that are trying to use it in a terrorist plot. Petchtai Wongkamlao also reprises his role as a police officer trying to aid the 'elephant protector'. It was directed by Prachya Pinkaew (who also directed the original) and written by Eakisit Thairaat. I liked the 2005 film quite a bit but this sequel I found to be pretty lackluster and boring. When Kham (Jaa) refuses to sell his elephant to a trader, named Suchart Vilawandei (Adinan Buntanaporn), it's stolen from him. He goes after Vilawandei, to get it back, when he finds him dead in his home. The trader's nieces, Ping-ping (Yanin "Jeeja" Vismitananda) and Sue-sue (Theerada Kittiseriprasert), see Kham standing next to their uncle's body and think he is responsible for his death. Soon the entire police force thinks Kham killed Vilawandei, as well, and Kham must turn to his old friend Mark (Wongkamlao), a police sergeant, for help. Mark has been chasing leads on a terrorist plan to disrupt the Kantana peace negotiations in Bangkok. Rza plays a crime boss involved in this terrorist plot. The movie has some pretty elaborate martial arts action scenes. Unlike previous Tony Jaa films though, there's a lot of visual effects and wire-work; it was also filmed in 3D. Although this is less impressive and pretty disappointing, to most Tony Jaa fans, I don't think it had anything to do with why the movie doesn't work. It's just a poorly conceived and clumsily executed film. The action scenes are cool but they get kind of boring, with almost no character development or story to go with them, and what little plot there is doesn't make much sense (most of the time). The villains aren't interesting or very threatening and Rza is horrible once again (like always). Jaa is still an awesome athlete and performer but he needs more talented people to work with than this.Watch our movie review show 'MOVIE TALK' at: youtu.be/N3ywdecCULw

they should stay the way as the first movie OngBak was. Other wise the fight-scene are very good but sometime is too much and its very different from the real fight. Stay for god sake stay to something real, no need to exaggerate.. its painful to watch these kind of films. they ruin it from the beginning. Theseproducers should stop making films..keep it real no need to experiment with 3d effects. u cant tell if it is a real or fake stunts anymore..stop producing crap movie!!!i Hope i never see more of OngBak films...

Uh oh. Someone took Tony Jaa's elephant again. Bad assery is sure to ensue. Unfortunately, it was the worst rapper turned actor since 50 Cent, The Rza that took the adorable pachyderm. Lucky for us, their heavily cut and right down awkward fight sequence doesn't come until the very end. There is actually an unintentionally hilarious shot of the Rza giving the audience his evil face as he chokes his own cohort out of anger. But bad acting aside, you have to put it aside or you wouldn't watch this, this film is entertaining. Jaa comes through once again with some awesome martial arts sequences, if only in spurts. The first hour of the movie is nothing but a series of movie stunts put together. Some of them go on a bit too long, particularly a series of stunts where he is fighting guys on motorcycles and motorized scooters. Why they don't get off the the motorcycles is unexplained, but there's a lot of amazing physical stunts in there. There are some stunts that are a bit heavy on cuts and obviously lacking continuity. This is a result of piecing tons of cuts together, including annoying ones where it's just a fist flying at the camera. But when Jaa is going full throttle it's pretty exhilarating. Don't bother with the plot, or figuring out how Jaa's character survives a fall off a sky scraper, because it makes no sense. Just know Tony Jaa really wants that elephant back, and he's going to kick butt to get him. Again.

oh my god how bad was this, all the moves and set ups were so slow and obvious, everything was just really bad, the acting the script the characters and jaa seriously like all your moves just became boring as you just elbowed people in the head constantly its not a great move its boring to watch, jump elbow in the head. Jump on a dirt book, elbow him in the head, run at people slide through their legs turn them around slowly and then just hits them in the top of the head...oh my god what a waste of nearly 2 hours :( so bad you better be putting some effort into fast and furious 7 you really do...if you want to see action this is not the film that you want to go and see, it is rubbish, the big scenes with the main fighters I thought OK this could be the big fight scenes I want to see, and no they were also rubbish, at one point they use star wars lightsaber sounds when they kick each other its like what the hell.I can actually say this is the worst martial arts film ever made...
