A group of Mexican emigrants attempts to cross the Mexican-US border. What begins as a hopeful journey becomes a harrowing, bloody and primal fight for survival when a deranged, rifle-toting vigilante and his loyal Belgian Malinois dog chase the group of unarmed men and women through the treacherous borderland. So here we have a citizen defending his border from illegal aliens made out to be the bad guy. The whole movie is backwards. Also anyone that fires a flare directly into a dog's mouth causing it to burn to death deserves to die a brutal death in the next scene. Very angry about this movie.

There are a few good points here, lets go with making a movie about the border jumpers and some of their possible experiences. Stuck in a group in the back of some truck traveling into an area that is mostly unknown land with guides that basically only care about their pay check. It is just like what most would imagine this journey to be.OK, you got that part down, but wouldn't you think that in this modern age that perhaps "some?" of them would have a mobile phone with map storage capability? Is this set in the late 70's or early 80's? Do any of you here, who have somehow found it necessary to praised this bland, sorry movie, have any clue of what you might think a person would do before going off to cross "the border" and attempt to infiltrate to the good ol' USA? Obviously you have not a single clue. Its really pathetic and upsetting that these representatives of a proud intelligent people (Mexicans) are displayed as such morons as to not even know that the sun sets in the west and then be able to decipher which direction would be north, you know, the direction that we want to go... ? It is so sad to think that there was so much that could have been done to make this film interesting and dramatic and gripping and maybe even perhaps slightly "smart"... and then here... well, all I can say is that anyone who gave this film more then 5 stars MUST be paid shills... to speak so highly of this hot mess.I am ashamed for you all... this movie is really nothing but sadly funny and disappointing for all the obvious mistakes and totally missed opportunities. I watched it on Netflix and am seriously thinking of demanding my money back! lol

Throughout the movie I thought why not just fill out the paperwork to become a US citizen? Or Mexico should ask the USA to help with their poor country. The movie reminded me of Predator. I also wonder what the law says about shooting an illegal alien crossing US border like that. Since they are not US citizens. I also wonder why This did not get a US wide release it would seem the liberals would have championed this movie, and the conservatives would've been cheering for the movie.

Even if viewers aren't familiar with the short story or movie "The Most Dangerous Game" - both of which started this basic plot - it's without doubt that they will have watched this basic plot many times before this particular rehash. So how does it compare to other tellings? Well, I admit that I wasn't bored at any time, and there are some parts of the movie that do have some tension and excitement. But at the same time, I got the feeling that the filmmakers weren't going all out to deliver some serious punch. The first twenty minutes or so are kind of soft in tone, and even when the bullets start to fly and people start to be pursued, some edge seems to be missing a lot of the time.A bigger problem is when it comes to character development. We don't really learn a thing about the antagonist apart from the fact that he loves his dog. We never learn why he's turned into a killer vigilante. When it comes to the main protagonist, we don't learn that much more. He has one (somewhat brief) monologue where he shares some of his background to another character... and that's it.As I said, I wasn't BORED with this particular retelling, and it's fairly well made for what was a low budget. But in the end, it's only an average take on this old formula. Better than some, yes. But there are also a lot better rehashes out there.
