Since his triumphant rise to power in the original blockbuster "The Scorpion King", Mathayus' kingdom has fallen and he's lost his queen to plague. Now an assassin for hire, he must defend a kingdom from an evil tyrant and his ghost warriors for the chance to regain the power and glory he once knew. This was a fun movie to watch on an afternoon where you're not doing a lot anyway. This stands up well to any of the Scorpion King movies and Krystal Vee, I feel, is one of the standouts of the cast. She does a good job acting and lets face it-she is incredibly easy to watch. The people trashing this movie are just taking themselves too seriously regarding a movie that wasn't ever meant to cause you to pause and ponder the meaning of life. If you don't regard yourself as a movie snob or a professional movie critic this movie is a lot of fun to watch. It will never be in the top 100 movies of all time but it you're interested in the Scorpion King movies this one is as good or better than any of the others. Take it for what it's worth.

Poor old Mathayus, the Scorpion King: things are going from bad to worse. The hot oriental girl he hooked up with in his first solo film has passed away, and now he gets involved in trying to depose a tyrant. If you are reading this, I truly do not believe that you need any more plot synopsis than that.First showing up as a largely CGI Dwayne Johnson in The Mummy Returns before spinning off into a solo outing, his success was enough to enable The Rock to start making films under his actual name. I knew nothing about a sequel, but I feared for the worst from this third episode - well, you would, wouldn't you? Especially when the main character is played by, um, Victor Webster...Thing is, it's not as bad as all that. It has a couple of names in the cast - Ron Perlman taking the money and running, and Billy Zane performing with his usual understated subtlety, and Dave Bautista before GotG showed him to be an actor with some ability -and it has some production value in terms of location, costume etc.Which is not to say it's a good film - the story is no great shakes, the acting is unimpressive, the action (of which there is a lot) is OK but not great, and there is a sense of incoherence about it - the influences are oriental and middle eastern, the location is Thailand, Mathayus' buddie is a fat Norseman, and so on.It's not a complete disaster, but it's definitely a bargain bin job.

The film is so promising. It has some good actors and continues the Mummy /Scorpion King Franchise. Or so I thought. This screenplay is weak. It has cardboard characters, clichés, and anachronisms. Its plot is uneven. It's as if the screenwriters couldn't decide on the genre. Fantasy? Mythology? Comedy? Adventure? I soon lost interest. I was disappointed with the third Mummy movie, but it was Oscar material compared to this. Don't watch this movie expecting it to have anything to do with the original Scorpion King. Read the other reviews for more information. I can only wonder what Ron Perlman, Billy Zane, etc. were thinking when they signed on for this movie.

This is a great movie if you want a good laugh. I cannot even say what the movie was about since there is no plot- just endless bad one liners and ridiculous fight scenes between roman soldiers an ninjas and barbarians and ghost warriors and elephants and some chick whose clothes reveal more skin as the movie drags on. I love conan movies and other mindless movies like that, but this was so painfully stupid i wished i could hold my breath and pass out. At times i don't think the actors even know who they are supposed to be fighting. I paid one buck for this movie at redbox and feel totally ripped off...where do the chariot races fit in??? Was this movie really under 2 hours???? It felt like 50 hours...
