The Librarian: Quest for the Spear (2004)

This is a simple movie with it's roots in treasure hunting. The limitations of being a low budget TV movie is visible in certain scenes but it doesn't affect the experience.This movie is cheesy, witty, entertaining and family friendly. You can watch this movie with your family and have a good time.All the actors gave a wonderful performance(except the lead actress, felt like she's not suited for the character). Direction was good, screenplay was OK for the theme considering the budget.There are flaws in story telling and plot, still it's a solid watch(not a no brainer). Sit back relax and enjoy the movie, you'll definitely have a good time.

Flynn Carsen is a perennial student, but for his first job application, he will get the job of his lifetime : The Librarian. He will be the chief librarian of the biggest library in the world housing the most legendary artefacts known to mankind from the Excalibur sword, the Pandora box or the Holy Grail. But he shall also be the one roaming the world for lost or stolen artifacts transforming him into a real Indiana Jones type. With this TV movie, a series of TV movies and later on a TV series were created but the first movie introduces as to all the excitement of the librarian's job description. I usually wouldn't write reviews, but I feel obligated to do so just so that people don't get misled by the high score that this piece of trash earned. Really embarrassing, definitely a candidate for the Mystery Science Theater 3000 reboot. The fact that a sequel, nay, TWO sequels were created after this... this... there are absolutely no words to describe just how incredibly awful this film was. You should watch it.Apparently I need 10 lines of text to explain how bad this was, so much like the movie, I will draw this review out in a painful manner, far beyond the possible scope of the actual content. Supposedly I could get my account blocked for padding this comment with junk words, but it doesn't matter. I'm here, logged in, for one reason, and that's to lower the average score of this monument to Hollywood stupidity.

if we allow the magic and wonder to manifest! my favorite...a comedy? romantic/ adventure movie. a great and complementary cast. a cast such as this makes it an extra special film right from the get go. another movie that blends history and fiction it such a adventurous way that it undoubtedly leads people to understand that such sought after "relics" and treasures as the holy grail, spear of destiny, Excalibur, and others are metaphors for the mystical and spiritual...and is done in a heck of a more fun way than those literal dry, boring stories in religious or history books/movies! and if people take special attention they will have the sense (as in so many movies) that the girl and boy have "known" each other before...almost always recognized by the girl first. have fun with this lighthearted movie and contemplate on how much fun it would be to be engaged with your own adventurous quest!the only reason i gave this an nine instead of a ten is probably just for the fact that they didn't have the huge budget some of these films have for specisl effects. and i really wish these movies i review would get the exposure they deserve.
