I stated to watch this movie seeing the crew despite this low rating. A review helped me saying it's not actually a rom-com rather a romantic drama. If you're in a comedy mood then you'll be disappointed. Watch this movie as a drama. It has good pace in it, not too slow.I liked this movie very very much. This movie has genuine script which is very refreshing. Acting was good. Definitely Watchable movie.

Ok, so I went into this thinking- The ratings are pretty bad, but then again how bad can a movie with Paul Rudd and Reese Witherspoon be? Oh, and Owen Wilson. And i was right. Granted, it was no Notting Hill, but then again most romantic comedies aren't. I would even go as far as to say that this movie has been wrongly characterized and is more of a romantic movie with a couple of chuckles. While the plot and character development could've used just a little fixing up, I'm glad this movie was made, and I'm glad I had the chance to see it.

Giving this movie a low rating is, as the King would say in 'The King and I,' a 'puzzlement.'James L. Brooks always delivers. Maybe you won't want to hear the messages, maybe you're not in the mood, but you will accept delivery. Every few years, I watch this film and forget the details of the plot. That means there will be fresh tears. Tears of happiness but here comes the waterworks! Paul Rudd is, as usual, the perfect 'chick flick' hero. A little TOO perfect for some. Yet he has the comedic chops to lift a scene that threatens to bog down in sentimentality.Reese Witherspoon does something that must be very challenging: she acts the role of the athlete working on developing her thick skin while also being soft and appealingly feminine. What complicates her character is her tendency to talk through all her feelings while evaluating all her feelings. Too much? Even her character has to stand back now and then and say, 'Enough already...' I don't understand how this wonderful script with these wonderful actors failed to add up to a huge box office hit. I've finally come up with this: it's too many smart (even brilliant) ideas in a movie that dating couples are going to wish was just a bit of fluff between dinner and bar-hopping. There's so much to think about from the conflicts presented that it just might happen that the evening ends up being a thoughtful debate about futures and hopes and vulnerabilities. Who wants that on a date? Uh, NO ONE!And there you have it.(If you are not on a date, see the movie. Have some Kleenex handy for a scene or two. Get ready to laugh because there are very funny scenes, too.)

Grandma was right, judging by this cast this show seems outstanding! It was slow, I nodded off twice only to awaken to find it was still not over yet. Poorly written and delivered dialog that sounded more like a first reading than a seasoned actor droned on and on and on.......The ONLY memorable funny line was so crass and pointless I don't even want to repeat it. Reese Witherspoon seemed cold and confused about what she was suppose to do, Owen Wilson sounded like he was waiting for someone to feed him a line or cue him the whole time. Paul Rudd, stared most of the movie like a moron without a clue. Jack Nicholson looked and acted so badly I though it HAD to be someone else. A totally unexpected joy to watch was Kathryn Hahn. Although at times compared to the others her OVER THE TOP acting was on the edge of crazy her tone made it hysterical and I really enjoyed her mood swings and silly attitude.....she showed up with her A game....the only thing I really appreciated it.....not funny, not romantic, not well so bury it with Ishtar and call it a lesson in what not to do.....
