Fox and the Hound 2 is one of those cheap direct-to-DVD sequels made by Disney, and strayed away from the original. It has none of the charm of the original, the comedy within the picture is not funny, in fact, the title of the movie is Fox and Hound 2, and yet, it makes us feel like we're paying less attention to the Fox and the Hound. It adds in new characters, but they don't make any sense. The whole goal of the new characters is to, I'm not even kidding, sing at the Grand Opry. Here's one question. What the hell does that have to do with the original? And, this movie jumps the shark so many times that it's really hard to sit through. But, aside from the negatives, the positives, which were hard to identify, do include the animation's improvement, even though I love the original's hand-drawn style, and the beginning and end are the parts that are basically the best parts. After seeing this picture, I have wondered for days how this movie could've resulted. I really wish it could've been better. I really do. But, still, it's one of the worst Disney movies I have seen in my life. And that's coming from a fox lover.

Back in the 80's, Disney released an animated film called, "The Fox and the Hound". The film was about a fox pup and a bloodhound pup becoming friends, even though they are suppose to be enemy's.In 2006, Disney released a direct-to-video sequel called, "The Fox and the Hound 2". Why would Disney do a sequel? The only thing's I liked about the film was the animation and the voice acting. The problem's with this film is that the song's were pretty forgettable, the plot was really lame and most of the character's from the first one were not in this movie."The Fox and the Hound 2", is just a bad sequel and it's not worth watching at all.

The original Fox and the Hound is a very charming and underrated film. The sequel/midquel had some cute moments and was average at best, but I did feel it lacked the charm of the predecessor, and it is and I quote "an inferior sequel". I will admit though that the animation is very very good, and the soundtrack decent and catchy. I also cannot deny that the voice acting was excellent, the standout easily being the late Patrick Swayze(may he rest in peace) as Cash. I liked the additional characters, and Todd is still really cute. However, the story is very weak, unfocused and predictable. The original's story focused on the friendship of Todd and Copper, and it was this that made the original so charming. Here, it was a nice idea, but there are a number of predictable moments and there was a lot of very little happening rather than focusing on the friendship. I don't think it helped that the writing was nothing to write home about. I also didn't like Copper in this, he wasn't much of a friend to Todd, and seemed selfish too. And where were Big Mama, Boomer and Dinky? I am probably one of the few people who really liked them in the original, and although the original voice actors have passed over since, they could have provided the humour with new voice actors. Plus the film is much too short. Because of these reasons, despite the redeeming qualities it definitely has, it was devoid of humour and most of the time charm. 5/10 for the animation, music and voice cast. Bethany Cox

I agree with every comment that has been made stating that The Fox and the Hound 2 was made in poor taste, and that the story was far inferior to the original. What is happening to our culture? When will the bastardization of classic stories that convey cherished themes and morals ever stop? In my opinion, Disney will never be what it used to be, and that is sad. What an incredible loss. If we, as Americans, want to experience anything of real value in literature and storytelling in this day and age, we have to park ourselves in the culture we created thirty years ago and prior and remain stuck there, because almost everything Disney or Hollywood creates now depicts violence, blatant sex and sexual themes, and as another comment said "themes of petty jealousy and popularity." What a disgrace.
