The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006)

Here we go again, with a "sequel" that has so little in comon with the original that it should hang its head in shame ! Have a quick look at all the 1. 2, and 3 ratings. Of course, following a pattern I've noted time after time on IMdB, there are some 10s and 9s for a big flop of a film. Who are most (not all, let me add) of the "reviewers" who do this ?? Cast or crew members/friends? Kids? A little research shows that usually most "reviewers" doing this have reviewed only one, two or maybe five movies. The following 10/10 "review" for The Butterfly Effect 2 is from an IMdB member who has reviewed a grand total of two flicks! Here's the header: " 10/10 Better than I thought it would be imafan41118 October 2006 " There's precious little to recommend this motion picture... the music is dreary, the acting amateurish, plot (what plot?), cinematography fair at best, pacing dull, uneven, script duh!, effects meh!... you get the idea. The movie seems to have been put together by a bunch of smartypants juveniles who figure THEY know what's happening. Nope, they don't ! This is one to miss ~ at any time, in any time zone, in any universe. I rate it 2/10 because there are films that are worse. #

Sure why it's a sequel because the story has no connection to the first one. They just copied some of the things from the first movie such as nosebleeds and memory loss. The time traveling didn't have the same purpose as the first and everything seemed haphazard. It was maybe entertaining but the plot wasn't profound or meaningful. And I really hate that every movie injects a vivid sex scene right in the middle so I have to rush to fast forward through inappropriate scenes.

After watching The Butterfly Effect (2004) I was hoping to see a seconded part to the movie. I searched the internet to find there was a part 2, there was and I watched it thinking I may or may not like the second part, well I did. I did not find it (2) quite as exciting as the first one but it was a good film never-the-less.If you understand The Butterfly Effect (2004) then you can follow part two fairly easy. As long as you know what "The Butterfly Effect" is then you will have a basic understanding of what is going on in part 2 of the movie. Part 2 is a separate film so you will still have to watch it to know what happens because it is not a copy of nor a remake of The Butterfly Effect (2004).I think the IMDb rating on The Butterfly Effect 2 is a bit underrated but not as good as the first film.7.5/10

Yup,my title says all i have to say.It was not bad but it just was not in the same league.There were just too many cons for me with a few pros.First off,The plot for this second movie wasn't good enough.Second,the direction was not up to the standard.The acting was just fine..screen play could have been better.The biggest problem was,that it looked like the movie was made in a rush with no thought process.There could have been so much more interest in this movie just by changing a couple of scenes..The basic problem in my view was the writing,it was just below par.The first movie was terrific,with both pros and cons but ultimately with more pros and so it was successful.But this second one,well,nope.Doesn't do for me.Still giving it a 5 though,because i like sci fi movies and i never get bored in sci fi.Choose for yourself mates,if you really like sci fi,and you don't wanna criticize,go ahead and watch it.NOT good though..
