The production of this movie is not bad, we have certainly seen worse. Where this movie fails badly is in the story line. 10 minutes into the movie and you can predict exactly what is going to happen. It´s been done before, many times and much better. To be fair, it is watchable, just, lets say that if you are on a long flight across the world and this is the only movie available to watch then go for it but otherwise, this is one for the bin. Will we be watching it again in the future, highly unlikely.

Most people done't read reviews until (after) they've seen the movie. So I had to say, this is one of the worst movies I've seen. Sorry, but it really was predictable and slow.A movie named "Buried", is extremely similar but at least worth watching. Brake, was very predictable and repetitive. And the end of this movie was terrible. Did I say the end was TERRIBLE???????????I have written very very few reviews. So for me to add a review means that I (really) did not like this one. Where the hell did they get the funding for this trash? There must be someone out there who needed to throw money away or just wanted to say they made a movie regardless if it was a good or bad movie.

Brake is very similar to "Buried" (which I also loved). It follows the story of a CIA agent who finds himself trapped in the trunk of a car by terrorists and interrogated in order for him to give away the location of a secret bunker where the president hides during a crisis. As the entire US crumbles around him, he does everything he can to save himself, his family, and his country, all within the confines of a glass box, literally. This movie was suspenseful, tense, and very visceral. The psychological tension raised to an insane degree, and the whole movie feels like one giant "Saw" trap, but instead of just being mindless gore and torture, there is actually a strong story and solid pacing. While the main character in Brake may not be as like-able or relatable as Paul Conroy in "Buried", the twists and turns make the story much more engaging. "Buried" felt as if the whole movie was one big scene, while Brake is more broken up into segments. I cannot rave enough about the pacing, each scene is either interesting and suspenseful or tense and psychologically challenging. Never once was I bored or simply waiting for the next scene, I was constantly kept in the moment as if I, myself, were in the same situation the character was in. The only negative factor that compromises the quality of the film was the ending. Without spoiling anything, the ending was stupid and made no sense. Some could argue it was clever and "original", but I found it pretentious and completely ludicrous. So much so that if I were ever to watch the film again, I would probably pause it about five minutes before the credits roll to spare myself the disappointing flaw in an otherwise great suspense/thriller. However, aside from the awful ending, Brake is still a very good film and definitely worth watching.

I watched this movie despite reading reviews that the ending ruined the whole film. I hoped the reviews were wrong - unfortunately they weren't. The story and Agent Jeremy Reines situation is gradually explained to us. Much like the film Buried. The first 80 minutes are genuinely tense, with some great acting by the under-rated Stephen Dorff. However, all the build-up, all the time and emotions invested are totally let down by the wholly far-fetched and unbelievable ending. Not to mention, every actor in this who is not Stephen Dorff sucked royally. This was a great 80-minute film and a horrendous 90-minute one. For a much better use of concept, if not slightly more depressing, watch Buried with Ryan Reynolds.
