Don't Blink (2014)

PROS: The thing that's stands out more than anything is the progression of intensity. This is an undeniable pro. When you get down to the nitty gritty each and every characters, presumed, death is more intense than the next. The mystery just spirals, and continues to do so, the entire duration of the film. I can give some of the credit to how well the characters relationships were displayed earlier in the film. They didn't take a long time showing the connections between characters, they didn't not do it at all, but most importantly they didn't over develop any one set of relationships. This really was a big thing for me, because the director was crafty enough to show character development and relationships gradually throughout the build up of tension in a way that when you got to the end the characters left are well enough connected to create a great climax and falling action. I can understand where people would be disappointed with the ending as well, but I honestly couldn't think of an ending that would better encompass the film as wholly as this ending did.CONS: With a large cast it is rare that every actor is good, and this film fell victim to this as well. After looking at the review overall score I was somewhat doubting whether to watch this film but I decided to give it a shot and make my own mind up..... not disappointed.It's not a film that will give you all the answers you want but it's certainly a film that will make you guess what's coming next. It's not a gore fest or typical horror, more like a twilight-zone-esque type film....I'm not going to say much as the beauty in the film is not knowing..... just give it a try and maybe, like me, you won't be disappointed... whatever you do though, don't blink.

So I was just looking to waste some time this morning before I had to head out to an dentist appointment and I was scrolling around netflix and stumbled across this movie "Don't Blink". This group of people have reservations for a place to stay and when they arrive there is nobody to be found. Through out the movie people pretty much just disappear out of no where So to be honest this was a really dumb movie with a really dumb ending but it was good enough for me to keep watching. Don't expect anything good out of this movie but if your bored just looking for something to watch and you have no other choice then give it a shot. The acting is okay at best and the plot is pretty basic. The music helps make the movie more suspenseful. Its definitely not a movie that I would watch again but it wasn't bad for a first time. At the end of the day though this was a dumb movie. I gave it 4 stars because it was just barley good enough to keep me watching but I was wondering when something big was going to happen. Give it a try if your bored.

While not sure as to how to truly "label" this film... it's definitely a worth watching movie. The characters are varied and balance out with each other. I don't want to give it away so I will write what I was thinking as I watched it. This is the type of movie I personally think is best to see without reading the promo. Watch it that way and you will understand why. At first it seems TOO peaceful, ... and yes it is... at first. It doesn't take long however for the viewer (and characters) to realize something's amiss. The bully kid from "A Christmas Story" is all grown up and plays a major role in the film as is also Mena Suvari. All in all a good watch. Keep the lights off for maximum enjoyment.
