This film gets so many things right. Seems like the writer knows exactly what ails the Muslim society and this movie captures that brilliantly. The modern but Islamist wife, the pious and regressive but non-violent Islamic preacher, the white convert who is more hardcore in his jihad than the others, the run-of-the-mill kebab shop worker who supports jihad, the happy-go-lucky and unsuspecting co-worker from the security agency, the freely mingling drug-addicted white girl. If this isn't piercing satire, I don't know what is. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Also contains some brilliant dialogues like, "Bro, I think I might be confused but I am not sure."

First, to all the people who gave this anything less than 5 stars: You haven't the slightest idea about satire, comedy or anything for that matter. This movie is funny, because it's only bordering on the authentic. Stupidity has no limits, no boundaries. This is a fact no matter how much anyone might try to dispute or disapprove. Barry & Waj (two of the boys) is proof of that. I'm certain that there's a ton of Barrys and Wajs out there somewhere. I actually believe that there's a Barry everywhere in one way or another. The fact that this film turns dark towards the end is only logical. It's to be expected. How else can one let this movie end? Stupidity combined with violent intent always ends badly or tragically. I'm especially fond of the Heimlich near the end there. The Cumberbatch cameo as the perplexed negotiator also was a nice surprise. This movie's full of interestingly bad/dumb decisions and statements. I watched it just once and I'm already repeating or quoting some of them. As far as Chris Morris goes, I'm not familiar with his work, apart from his role in The IT crowd, but just for having the balls to make this 6 years ago, he should be commended. 7.4/10

This movie should have clearly achieved way more than it did. The actors have displayed how high they can perform and Christopher Morris has done an excellent job in directing this master piece. The actors have done a truly excellent job in quickly changing between emotions and have shown they can act serious scenes as well as the comedic ones that make this movie deserving of an Oscar.Chris Morris has given this movie a very powerful effect due to they way his scenes change quickly from comedy to serious ones. This keeps the funny side of the movie but also maintains the story line.Someone please give this movie a f***ing Oscar.
