It's been at least 20 years since I've seen this movie, and I still can't get it out of my head. I just found out that it's being re-released on DVD February 27, 2007! I pre-ordered this on February 1st and can't wait. This movie is everything a cult classic dreams to be - quasi-famous actors, cheesy FX, corny music, and not-your-average plot. This is the type of movie that film was made for. If you're tired of the plastic, bar-coded, multi-million dollar, computer-generated, A-list-stars-competing-for-camera-time, over-marketed blockbuster, then this is your movie. It was made for the average Joe.If you like movies like "Looker", "Beast Master", or "Swamp Thing", then "Super Fuzz" is for you. I'll definitely be having a "Super Fuzz" party when this comes in.

I bought this movie for a buddy, we were both kids when we watched this film originally. so of course I had to watch it again.I had mostly forgotten it until the scene -- Dave speed can't shoot an alligator, so holds his gun into the air and shoots (I guess to scare the alligator). He shoots a Nuclear missile (which happened to be flying past), which then explodes giving him his super powers--- later...Next he has figured out he has powers--he makes a truck roll backwards, using his new telekinetic powers, then (and the facial expressions are great for a laugh) he uses his powers to push it sideways into a parallel parking spot. (Background singers) "Super Superrrr!!!" Hilarious back then--even funnier now though, retrospectively.

This is my all-time favourite "B" Movie! Sure, the plot is weak. Sure, some of the actors wouldn't know the Method from a Methodist. Who cares? It's a load of fun!!! And sexy Terence Hill as super-powered cop Dave Speed? Oh man! Dave had the coolest super-powers ever seen on any hero ever. Sure, he does the usual strength, speed and flying stuff, but he does so much more. He has telekinesis, he can broadcast his voice over the radio, instantly hypnotise people to do his bidding, walk on the water, teleport, see through solid objects, predict the future, read minds, and, of course, there's the Orange Bowl scene. He makes 70,000 or so people "disappear" with but a moment's concentration. Where do they go? I always wondered that when I watched it when I was a kid. Anyway, is this great cinema? Doubtful. Is it a whole lot of fun? Oh yeah!

"Superfuzz": I saw this film when it came out in theaters thanks to seeing the ad for it on TV. The idea of a cop with super powers due to a nuclear accident sounded cool and what I saw in the commercials appeared funny. Being 13 then,it looked like it would be a really fun film. Back then,it was. I was actually able to see it on video just a few short years ago and I realized,I was only laughing at things someone 13 or younger would laugh at. I also (when I saw it on video) kind of felt sorry for Ernest Borgnine having to be in such a sub-standard film. This was the same man who did a fabulous lead acting job in the 1955 film "Marty". Poor Ernest! As for the rest of the cast and the film itself, the cast does an adequate job and the Italian actor in the lead role...yes,his voice is dubbed in English as well as the others. I didn't notice that until the second viewing. Overall,if absurdity, silliness and Gilligan's Island type super-speedy film comedy is your thing, then by all means, get this movie. If you want to see a great example of the non-sense some movie makers tried to pass off as entertainment in the late 70s & early 80s,again,get this movie.05/13/2017 (EDIT) - I found a copy of this film at Ebay and decided to give it another look all these years later. I actually found more of it funny than I did on the first re-watch in the early 90s. Some things I found stupid before weren't anymore and whatever still was, most likely always will be. Just the same , I'm uping my rating from 4 stars to 6. It's a good comedy to watch if you're in the mood for super-silly. (End)
