=contains spoilers=I very rarely write reviews but seeing the quite high grading score in IMDb and the reviews (which were mostly positive), made me to analyze my own sanity as I hated this movie. The movie was really a bad one!Few really nonsensical elements ruined it for me: 1) The mute, non-English speaking woman, who was still emotionally attached with the rest of the group. It made very little sense. Even if there were some really unlikely events behind the lack of communication, nobody ever tried to really communicate with her during the movie and she made no effort either. OK I guess we could say "ok" she was just mentally challenged and incapable of drawing stick figures to close the language gap, and leave it to it. 2) Soldiers not giving a crap were the survivors infected or not. 3) At the end, the huge pile of corpses and the hint that the main guy had done this cycle many many times before, was surreal.Good premise, could have been a good movie, but not. Stay away. Watch "the cube" or "the exam" instead, if the like the genre. Peace and out.

The synopsis of this film is enough to make you want to watch it. A man wakes up in a pit full of dead bodies. He has no memory of how he got there. After escaping he enters a house full of strangers who are also extremely agitated and just like him they have all lost their memory. The elephant in the room though is that if they are all alive then who has killed all the people? That is when the fun begins. What I really liked about this film was that it continued to surprise, I got it wrong every time I tried to guess what was coming next and that for me is a real plus. The cast are a brilliantly disparate group too and they all do an excellent job of keeping you right on the edge of your seat. The pacing is just right; the make up spot on and even the music gets the mood just right. There is not a lot not to like here (sorry about the double negative). It was filmed in Hungary but has a feel of being American despite a cast that is International. If you like your horror's to be a bit on the dystopian side then you should have a look at this.

I quickly browsed on the reviews and can't really understand the good reviews, but well everyone is entitled to his opinion. For me its quite simple, horrible acting, there is no real mystery, its a very predictable end, there are scenes that I even said: "this is really bad acting" it's not a very common sentence from me. In the other hand (let's see if there is something good) the story-line has a good passing, well it's pretty much it.TL;dr A group of people wake up with amnesia, with trust issues between them, they try to figure out what made them be in that place all together. In sum it's not worth it, "The Cube" is way better, and that one was much cheaper, for sure.

This is more of a mystery than a horror film. And it's fun watching the movie trying to figure out what's going on.So the basic synopsis is, this guy wakes up in a pit full of bodies, comes out, finds all these people. And everyone has lost their memory, no one has any memory of the past.A little before the end, I finally figured out the mystery. (Usually I can guess it a lot sooner).I think the title "Open Grave" probably scares away too many people, thinking it's some kind of grisly horror movie like Saw or something. It's not like that. Well I guess the pit full of dead bodies was a little grisly... But that wasn't the point of it...The point is, why are they there, what are they doing? Who's the good guy and who's the bad guy? And who is that creature locked up in a shed, being fed by another woman who has total amnesia? Bottom line: this movie is NOT a waste of time to watch (like so many others I've suffered through).
