Has anyone that raved about this movie ever been to Ethiopia. It sucks. We should not waste any time watching trash that tries and fails to get empathy and sympathy out of people in The United States of America. Our lives are not to worry or even affect other countries. They know SIN as much as we do. Yet this movie is about two Adulterers who believe the grass is greener. It lost $29 million at the theater. Netflix, only showing poorly taken movies, of course rants about how great it is. No, it is not. If any of it was based even a tiny bit on reality, that divorce and adultery are wrong, and that it hurts all of those around you, then you'd think twice. But, Hollywood has to show adultery time and time again. It's becoming the primary sub-theme to every movie produced. Angelina Jolie put on the most horrible performance ever. All the others in this film were so pathetic as real actors and actresses. I really wish I could sue the Director and Producer. This movie is pure fantasy, for those in the world that are so lost, they don't know God or Jesus at all. Show this in the middle east, and they would burn it. What a terrible waste of time.

I just watched this movie last night and I just have to say WOW.'Beyond Borders' is such a good movie, the writing is excellent... the story really pulls at your heartstrings. The actors do an amazing job bringing this story to life. The war violence and the danger were believable and well-done... I was captivated from the very first frame of the movie... it just draws you in and won't let go. Some people may not like the ending but I was glad they did it in a realistic way, 'cause this stuff does happen sometimes.Clive Owen played the stubborn/charismatic/compassionate character wonderfully, I don't anyone could've done a better job.... and Angelina is a wonderful actress, she pours a lot of passion into her character into the movie as well. Its nice when actors just disappear into a role :)I cannot recommend this movie any higher... It takes its time telling the story, which suits it nicely, but don't turn it off right away, if this movie had been fast-paced, it would've ruined the experience *if that makes sense ;-)* It's a pity this movie wasn't more well-received at the box office.

My sister had tried to get me to watch this movie several times, so finally, I relented. Am I ever glad that I did. Not to mention a great story line, the acting is incredible, and the casting is wonderful. Being a movie fan, I knew, however, that one of the main characters were more than likely going to die. I kept thinking it would be Nick (Clive Owen) who died, but when Sarah (Angelina Jolie) stepped on the land mine, I thought, "Oh, no". I had to actually stop the movie several times, so that I could calm down. When the soldier gave the baby the hand grenade, I had to stop the movie once again, just to cry, then I resumed. It is truly one of the most heart wrenching movies that I have ever seen. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see an excellent movie.

I know everyone's commenting on the social ramifications (and failures of, perhaps) of this movie and so forth but umm...can I just be totally shallow and say I enjoyed the movie for the awesomeness of Clive Owen? AKA Sexiest Man Alive, IMHO? I remember reading a magazine bit about "best kissers" (stars kissed and told) - Angelina listed Clive as the best kisser, and boy can you see why.Watching them do a really good job together (CO and AJ) was totally entertaining - this film gets a bad rap...of COURSE it's hard to do justice to the horrifying situations out there. At least they tried. Give it a shot.
