Finding Neverland (2004)

Story about Sir J.M. Barry and creation of Peter Pan. Although Depp was nominated for Academy Award, in my opinion this is one of his weakest performances. In female leading role is Kate Winslet whom I can not stand. But in spite of that, this is one of the most beautiful and emotional stories I ever saw and it blows me away every time.8,5/10"I suppose it's all the work of the ticking crocodile, isn't it ?! Finding NeverlandThe feature endorses innocence in each frame, characters and emotion that is drawn out from genuinely moving writing and performance. The screenplay by David Magee may not be gripping or intriguing enough to invest in it but it surely is effective and has a soul in it. Marc Forster fails to create the anticipated impact that was already present in the script and misses a big window there. The feature scores majestically on performance where every supporting actor (Kate Winslet, Dustin Hoffman and the young cast) factors in, with equal input among the protagonist i.e. Johnny Depp. Finding Neverland has stellar performance, amazing background score and fine editing that favors on its side but lacks better execution and the crisp that everyone awaits throughout the course of it.

I have problem with movies that use real life characters and make supposedly biographical movies but they alter key elements that completely change the meaning of a film. And that is the case in this movie. Basically just the names of the characters are true, most of the rest is fake or modified significantly from actual facts, including the main scenes in the movie. If they are going to take such licences, they should change the names of the characters and at most say "inspired on the life of..... " etc.). This killed the movie for me.

Oh my god! This movie is just incredible. It's a beautiful story telling us about a man who has a wonderful imagination but needs the inspiration of a troubled family. Since the moment you learn Kate Winslet is gonna die, something inside you makes you cry and really feel the movie. Johnny Depp is brilliant, as usual, but his performance in this movie is one of my personal favorites. The way he creates imagination in all the children, especially Peter, is amazing, not to include the incredible "discussions" he has with Julie Christie, his wife and the one and only Kate Winslet.I don't think i have ever cried more in a movie. I'm a guy, and i'm ready to admit that, cause this movie really makes you feel. The ending is as good and dramatic as it can be, and just the story is WOW!I've never been much of a fan of Peter Pan, so when i went to see it without having much of an idea of what it was gonna be, i didn't have many expectations, but now it's one of my favorite movies in the whole world.I really recommend it to everyone who wants to feel.
