American Warships (2012)

Wow, the impossible has happened. The Syfy Channel has run out of infomercials. That's the only possible explanation I can think of for running this movie. And frankly, most infomercials would have been more enjoyable.Mario Van Peebles phones in another role. Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head have more on screen chemistry than the commander and his love interest. The rest of the cast is completely forgettable. I've seen better acting in most commercials. It must have taken 2 weeks to shoot this movie, because so many scenes were shown repeatedly. The special effects look like they were whipped up by a teenager for his film class. Correct that, his CGI would have been better.On the plus side, there's one reason to watch this movie: for laughs because it's so bad.

Obviously the writers of this film didn't go out of their way to strain their brains to come up with a decent enough script and the producers were probably not so eager to empty their pockets to add to the budget. In the end what you have is a film that is literally not worth seeing. The acting is so bad it'll make you cry more than you thought you did while watching the TITANIC. The effects are so terrible the CG resembles something more like silicon rather than animation and the editing is also somewhat crap as various scenes were constantly reused several times just to indicate how low the film budget really is.Overall, Its not worth the running time it'll take you to watch this film. The film BATTLESHIP might not be a masterpiece itself but it is okay if you don't take the plot too seriously.

This is a film by The Asylum Company which tells you all you have to know . If you've never heard of them let me fill you in since it will at least allow me to meet this site's guidelines to use at least 10 lines of text The Asylum is infamous for what's known as making a " Mockbuster " . That is they use a very similar title and plot to a film that comes out at the same time and the film they're ripping off this month is BATTLESHIP . It goes without saying that their films never come close to a small percentage of the film they're ripping off . Try and think of Michael Bay directing a home movie with the local primary school children providing the special effects Now that you're aware of what a Mockbuster is all that's left to do is try and somehow justify why on earth you sat through one . I'm afraid I ran out of excuses a long time ago . Would it be morally wrong to state that despite all their flaws a film produced by The Asylum has the decency to cast cute females ? So that's one plus point . Another plus point is that you're able to bore people by stating pseudo intellectual statements like " If the aliens are to master inter-planetary travel how come their space craft rely on primitive projectile weapon systems ?" A film like this deserves one out of ten and deserves to sink without trace but by default scores three out of ten

Realistically, this movie was horrible on so many fronts, I can't even count.From downright insane graphic effects to bad green screen work, sloppy camera work and editing, over-dramatic performances and glances, needless pausing during dialogue, sets that are far from real and so much more.It was so zany and insane that I had an absolute laugh.I recently watched Battleship and disliked that movie as opposed to this. This was purposely bad, done on a fraction of a budget and it entertained.Is it the best movie ever? Hell no! Don't even think to expect that. This has more cheese than a pizza loaded with cheese and topped with extra cheese sprinkled after taken out of the oven.This was pure mush and anybody who fails to realize this should stick to watching over-hyped blockbuster failures with huge budgets and stories that suck, but don't make you laugh, but just pisss you off.This movie was bad...very bad, and for that fact, it was simply very good at being bad.
