Nude Nuns with Big Guns (2010)

No spoiler, the title is extremely accurate. A tremendous cheeze-ball B- movie that delivers every tumid, vacuous thing the lowest part of one's brain desires. There's (primarily)large firearm based violence coupled with copious amounts of full-frontal nun-udity. The nuns are young, attractive and play their parts with aplomb. This kill-em-all revenge flick otherwise follows the expected, pedestrian course through to it's complete end. A stout 6, the highest rating I will give to a B movie.

And thank you reviewers with a sense of humor that made me watch this. Most exploitation flicks have such bad lighting and guilt you never see much of anything good. Not this one. Is someone really going to tell me Robert Rodriguez and Tarantino are heads and shoulders above this director?! All the sycophantic sheep just keep on following the herd into pseudo intellectual dream land. Not only is it well shot using FILM in good lighting so you can actually see everything, the acting is even decent. Better yet, far more sex and nudity and good looking women than one usually gets. Right up there with I Spit On Your Grave type revenge flicks but better. So if you hate the Church, sinners and drug dealers, this camp feast is for you.

It's Nunploitation time as director Joseph Guzman is inspired by Tarantino's Grindhouse and comes up with this sleazy, cheesy, violence and titty fuelled revenge flick.Sister Sarah (Asun Ortega) is a nun taken by some gangsters forcibly drugged and taken into prostitution with the help of a corrupt clergy involved in drug trafficking.Sister Sarah gets a drug induced message from God that tells her to kill all the sinners and that exactly what she sets out to do. Her guns are small initially but the weapons get bigger and the church hire the gangsters to stop her leading to a showdown by the people who forcible raped her.Nude Nuns with Big Guns knows that with violence you also need plenty of gratuitous raw flesh, mammaries big and small, strippers, lesbian lovers and unsavoury rapists. This is exactly what it delivers.There is not much of a story, there are lots of lulls in the action as we take time out to see some more nudity and the bad guys are reprehensible but you know Sister Sarah will offer divine justice.

Nude Nuns with Big Guns is not as violent as Tarantino's Django Unchained, but it certainly is funnier.The flick is absolutely plausible to anyone who was assaulted by Crazy Bob, a monk who taught and battered students in Baltimore. The violence is so intense that it is clearly ironic, making the movie humorous.The producers probably intended to create a cult classic, and to ease the bruised memories of Catholic criminal contacts of the past. With a budget of $200,000 the product, seen in perspective, pleases those with a sense of humor. The photography is workmanlike. The lighting is professional. The script is well written and leaves a smile on your face. The ending is the funniest part of the movie. I can't ethically spoil that. You'll have to view the movie for yourself.
