When I walked out of this movie, I was shaken to the core, and I didn't recover for a good 24 hours. Why, you ask? Because I realized I had just seen the defining film of the 2010's. Like Enter the Void, Taxi Driver, or Kids, this is a draining experience. But also like these films, and perhaps even more so, this movie deserves to be seen so people can witness the sheer mastery of the craft displayed here by one of the cinematic geniuses of our time-Derek Savage. Martin Scorsese should be whacked over his failure to create a film as full of life as this one. Quentin Tarantino should commit hara-kiri because he has never made a film as bursting at the seams with creativity as this one. Over the next few paragraphs, I shall try to dissect just some of the themes and characters that make this film a masterwork of American cinema. For once, a hero with complex and uneasy moral shades. Despite his moniker, Cool Cat consistently seems to act uncool throughout the film, showing the pressure he is under to live up to the legacy he has created for himself as a symbol. Here we see a clear inspiration from Nolan's Batman trilogy. The first musical number is extremely important. Look closely, and you'll notice that none of the equipment is plugged in. While simple-minded fools may dismiss this as lazy on the part of Savage, he's actually giving us some brilliantly subtle symbolism. Cool Cat sings, but his microphone is not plugged in, resulting in nothing coming out. A clear metaphor for our protagonist's existential dread. He shouts and shouts, but nobody can hear him. Consider also the fact that Cool Cat is much older than his playmates. As in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, Savage finds a poignancy in a hero who, despite his aging body, still valiantly makes the effort to bring justice to those around him. And you'd have to be joking if you say you missed the brilliance of the constantly messy audio tracks. These symbolize the rapid insanity that is taking over Cool Cat's mind as he faces the torment of Butch the Bully, also brilliantly demonstrated in the dream sequence. Speaking of Butch, he is one of the great modern movie villains, up there with Anton Chigurh and Hans Landa. We see that his evil is caused by a deep and tragic loneliness. Unable to place his feelings of isolation, he instead lashes out in anger at those around him, becoming an unstable sociopath in the process. He picks on others to make them as insecure as him and influences them to join him in his schemes, showing in a terrifying way how the cycle of juvenile delinquency will continue, effectively destroying any future these kids might have once had. This movie made me cry, gasp, yell, and at some points even laugh, in a defensive kind of way. It changed me. I guarantee it will change you.

I love this movie because it is so hilarious. It's hilarious because everything about it is horrible. The editing, the acting, the plot, the message, the directing and even the camera work was bad. It takes some skill to fail at every aspect of movie making, and I personally find that hilarious. It's basically "The Room" for kids.

This movie is just a masterpiece. It's The 'Room' of children's films. It's awkwardly shot, terribly scripted with weird creepy undertones, bad acting (either through incompetence but also maybe through a lack of care) and inconsistent/bad messages and logic. I loved every painful, awkward moment. Goes great with a bottle of vodka and a group of friends. Cool Cat Saves the Kids is simultaneously a perfect example of how one shouldn't make a movie as well as the perfect example of making a movie so badly that it is as entertaining as any AAA blockbuster (if not more so).

now Im going to give this movie a somewhat fair review, outside of the BS Derek Savage did with IHE and yes while it is bullshit it shouldn't effect the movie in your eyes, however this movie...isn't worth the 10 UDS it is worth. After viewing it at my aunts house while baby sitting and see the full movie I've come to the conclusion that: Derek stick to making books because that is where your true talent lies, cinematography is not your strong suit and it clearly shows in this movie. You tried you hardest to teach good life lessons and for the most part they do show though very well, but some thing should never be done, such as opening text or messages from people you don't know, opening unsolicited mail that would clearly be a scam, replying to a bully when the best thing to do is ignore them and report them to a teacher or parent, saying you need to look both ways before crossing the street and then immediately having Cool Cat cross the street without looking both ways and the biggest going towards a school knowing full well there is someone with a gun at said school. You also seemed to show off a small bit with your Van Halen guitar, while admittedly is pretty awesome it isn't something children would know about, nor most of the references you pointed out in the Hollywood parade scene.Over all I have to give this movie as 3/10 not because of your reaction to IHE but just because of the terrible nature of this movie.
