I find the documentary was well written, the images, stick footage and interviews allowed the audience to feel the pain and anger the families all suffered. It's sad ending is painful.

This has to be one of the saddest documentaries I have ever watched. The parents in this bio topic have suffered through more with such strength and grace that they are angels on earth. My heart goes out to them, I have no idea how they find the strength to get out of bed every day and go on. How any one human could be so cruel is beyond my nightmares. I saw this doc. a few years ago and it still haunts me. I pray for these people and that they find peace in this world.

10/10I never cried watching documentary until I watched this one, and when I have finished watching it, I watched it again. That is how good this documentary is. I even feel sad while writing this review, and I watched Dear Zachary 2 weeks ago.Unlike other documentaries, this documentary is very personal. The first reason Kurt Kuane made this is for Zachary Turner, the son of his dear friend who is murdered. You can feel how emotional Kurt Kuene narrated it.Dear Zachary at first wasn't intended for public viewing. Even so this documentary is well made, well written, and have great score. Greatest documentary I ever seen. The fact that I didn't know anything about Zachary Turner case, make this documentary feel like thriller with shocking twist. More shocking than most thriller out there. If you haven't watch this, you should. It works better if you didn't know anything about this case. You will end up in emotional roller coaster with this documentary.I am glad they pass Dear Zachary bill in Canada, I hope it could reduce the pain that Kate and David Bagby feel because of this tragedy.

As profound and affecting documentary as I have ever seen. Had me in bits for both the love and resolve of the extended family and friends, and the evil an individual is capable of. Neither is surprising, obviously, but to have it manifest in this powerful film was a moving and a poignant reminder nonetheless. The clever structure of the film is impactful where it needs to be, and the subject matter is handled delicately with its salient points made forcefully where they needed to be.A Beautifully created eulogy and at a the same time a damning document of the justice system. Essential viewing it goes without saying.
