This movie is bad to the point where there are no redeeming qualities about it.First, the movie idea featuring bored over privileged and pretentious college kids wanting to trip on magic mushrooms is a little interesting. Also, let's throw in their host. Some English sheep shagger who happens to be the world's leading expert on psychedelic mushrooms. His first warning to everyone was not to eat the shrooms with the black eye in the middle because it could kill you. If it doesn't kill you, it could open a dimensional gateway to a nightmarish world.Second, all those things combined could have an interesting movie. However, the movie's execution of the above theme was dreadful!Third, as the movie digresses, the lines between reality and bad tripping become blurred. You can't tell what's really going on. Fourth, as this non cohesive mess of a movie begins to unravel, the body count rises.Fifth, I'm not sure what role or value added the back woods, inbreed, half wits provided for the movie?Sixth, it appears Tara (Linsey Haun), the main character, went from being chased by hooded demons to the one doing all the killing? The movie does nothing to show that transition. This movie was a mess. Perhaps the makers and everyone involved were on shrooms during the filming.

high tension is one horror film that i like, also blair witch was not bad, so this is a mix of it. what is not fair...the film is not so bad as its rated, it is like some others underrated, and some other really really crap is higher rated then this, so give it a chance, its a nice way of passing the time, it it is written right ,-) ??? in Germany we said so...so try it out, it is worth i think it is not a homemade film, acting is okay... and even if it is predictable ... all in all it is a solid horror filmlike always...sorry for my Englishgreetings from cologne

Too bad I can't give this movie a MINUS 10 because this kind of crap is so bad and evil that it should be forbidden (really!). I wish the director would have eaten a whole kilo of Death Caps himself before making this movie, so I wouldn't have to write this review at all!I suppose he just wanted to ride on the waves of the war against drugs and after the blacksheeping marijuana, now it's the poor mushroom's turn! This movie is so full of blatant lies (and/or misinformation) that I don't even know where to start...Let's start with the incredibly irresponsible Irish Idiot that takes the group to the woods: excellent idea to NOT TAKE a poisoning victim to a HOSPITAL! Bravo! Also the onset of the poisoning in the real life takes place 2 to 3 days after ingestion and death after a week or 2... so the girl having convulsions IMMEDIATELY after swallowing the cap, is outrageously incorrect. Also the Death Cap shown in the movie, is not a Death Cap at all! A Death Cap looks totally different. Black nipple thing is pure fiction. Science Fiction in this case, lol, since it's scientific facts that are being totally distorted here!So yeah, I suppose it's an excellent idea to party around the campfire while you know that one of your guests is dying alone in her tent, unless he is the killer, of course (which I dunno 'cause I didn't even finish the movie).I could fill a whole book on the (probably intentional) misinformation in this crappy piece of junk, but I won't because it's not even worth it.Suffice to say that it's a bucket full of lies, blacksheeping the beneficial gifts of mother nature, with the message that MOTHER EARTH IS DANGEROUS and should be DESTROYED (Oh, right! Sorry, I forgot that we already are doing that!), and the movie is giving shamanism a bad name. The director of this movie does not deserve the air he's breathing, that's a waste of mother nature's resources!Using scientific facts correctly, a very good movie could have been made, very entertaining and scary if you want, as well as informational and even educational at the same time... But no, this movie is of the worst kind in existence, spreading lies and robbing humanity of useful knowledge!I wonder what's next?

What is it with Ireland and hallucinogenic mushrooms? This the second movie about mushroom and Ireland I've seen recently. Shrooms isn't as dismal and unwatchable as Puffball fortunately.Five American kids travel to Ireland for the sole purpose of getting high in the woods. They meet up there with some expert junkie. He teaches them what shrooms to gather and tells them two campfire tales at night, one erotic one and one horrific one. Both come true for the kids once they start taking shrooms. The main character, Tara, takes the wrong kind of shroom, one that gives her the power of premonitions and epileptic fits, and also, postmonition so to speak. She starts seeing all the horrible things that will and do happen to the kids. There's no shortage of villains, there are the local country folk, who in good movie fashion are these scary inbred types, there is some hairy creature thing, some other creature that looks like a witch with sharp teeth, and something else with a bag over its head. Despite all of Tara's warning the kids do everything wrong and get in trouble. The 3 girls are beautiful and the entire cast can act. There are some cool foggy forest images. Overall, things though are pretty slow and dull. Until, you get to the end and the surprise twist. That was really good and surprised me. Hard to recommend a movie solely for the ending though.
