I didn't know anything about this film. I came to him by casuality: a couple of months ago I had to get away from my dog for a while (first time in 10 years) and so I came across this film, there I saw that the main voice was John Hurt (Snitter) and called even more my attention. "Play" and... what a first scene, I was shocked! I confess I didn't know if I was in the mood to continue... obviously I did.Violence, animal abuse, cruelty, indifference, the simple way of human race to solve things in their own way, and the defenseless surviving "us".With a soundtrack that always sounds sad, melancholy; lights, shadows, contrasts, this fantastic animation has such a detailed art that perfectly those dogs could be barking instead of talking and we were going to continue understanding all the dialogues as if all of that was happening in real life. A story marked by traumas, but fought by loyalty and overcoming. This film immediately jumped to my top 10 of animations movies.

Usually I don't like films like this. Plague Dogs feels long, slow, drab, and arguably melodramatic. Its not excellent in character, and it doesn't seem to have a particular message. But The Plague Dogs works for me. And it has to come down to the animation. The animation looks good for the time, but more importantly, its barren, and uses faded colors - light blues, greens, and grays. The artists make modern England look like its in post-apocalypse. Yeah, there are humans around, but, from these dog's perspective, its a scary, lonely place.Plague Dogs is near hopeless, and honestly has some of the more screwed up scenes I've seen in animation. There's not much else to say about it. If you're in the right mood, its an emotional experience. Can't say I love it, but it stuck with me longer than most movies.

I normally am not a fan of old movies (especially cartoons/anime). When I saw this available, I decided to give it a try. I've never heard of it before, but it looked like it was going to be good from what I saw. I was not disappointed at all. I immediately got attached to the characters. They were very well done. By the ending, I almost teared up (and I'm a guy that does not do that in movies). For a movie to emotionally affect me is a special thing.Of all the modern animated movies I've seen, none have been as good as this one. Anyway, I cannot recommend this movie more. Very emotional, serious, and amazing.

Um… This is a really really odd show. Rather silent and made my skin crawl just a bit, especially how they show a dog being killed by downing in an experimental room. I'm not spoiling anything there since the show starts out with that. This show is so depressing, so sad that it made me want to curl into a ball and cry. It's about dogs who want to find masters that will not torture them with tests. It turns darker as they don't find a master and become wild dogs pretty much and do as they need. A little bit of surreal stuff does seem to come up because one of the dogs seems to have had work done to his brain. I think its also interesting to note that we see a lot of what happens when someone has the plague since both of them show signs as the days go on.The story actually felt rather boring for the most part, and it felt like it was going way to slow without really any reason for it. The only thing somewhat entertaining was watching the dogs try to catch frogs in desperation to have something to eat.The art style is rather odd, very dark and detailed. When you do see the people, you can see almost every line in the face. The animals all look pretty real and add to how scary the show really is. They really watched how dogs really act because everything they do isn't humanoid. The animation is pretty fluid, and works well with the story. The voices are hard to hear a lot, they talk rather softly and then the music would blar when I had my volume up. Their British voices also are a bit hard to tell what is being said. They sometimes also talk a bit scatter brained and mix up. Now also, even when we do not see the humans, we do hear them talking about the dogs escape. Now, this show was written because of the problems with testing animals and also working with illnesses and bioweapons that could become a national problem if they get out. This show was a creation from a book by Richard Adams that wrote a lot of different sad books about animals in bad conditions.
