What happens when four high school screw-ups are forced to attend an academy summer school to graduate? They turn their scholastic sentence into a wacky game of trying to improve their scores... with the women. The ultimate conquest for the 100-point prize is the sexy new French teacher, but she proves to be a bigger challenge than their failing grades. Wow, I hated this movie. Attractive women, check. Entertaining? Barely. I thought it was moronic, sexist, and overall not funny. I thought the writers and producer(s) really needed to grow up. Lustful teen guy dressed in drag so he can get into the girls' dorm and ogle the innocent, ditzy, big-breasted chicks is disgusting. Character names like Mona Lott, Steve Hardman, Something Poulet (Pull it...) Hugh Rection...Come on. And racist. Scene in a massage parlor with dorky Asian music and a stupid stereotyped Oriental accent. Yes, this movie was made in the 80s but it still ticked me off. You might enjoy this if you're a immature jerk who's short on brain cells living in your folks' basement. I wish I could get about one hour and one half of my life back. Eye roll.

It's pretty silly and it's the sequel to "Screwballs". A movie that is considered a classic by some. But while you can argue about the quality of the first movie (especially if you had watched it back in the day and like to reminisce about the good old days), it's almost impossible to find anything good in this one. It tries to up the ante, in the sex comedy department, but does not achieve it.It even tries to copy some scenes (the first doctor related at the beginning), again upping the ante. But it doesn't achieve much. You have to have really low expectations to like this or have watched it back in the day too. Maybe though you can see through the mist of remembering that it is not funny at all. The main song also reminds me of "Footloose" a lot. I wonder if there was a controversy when the movie came out ... doesn't matter though.

"Loose Screws" is a radical party movie with an awesome, quasi-new wave & "fake rock" soundtrack. The lead actors are older, sleazy guys playing sex-crazed teenagers. When it comes to the females in this film, obviously "loose" is the operative word. This film delivers non-stop idiocy and perversion in a way that "Preppies" and other teen sex comedies of the day fail to live up to. There is no attempt to be sentimental or involve the characters in an annoying action sub-plot.One of the best moments of the film occurs during the climax scene at the graduation assembly. The 4 main guys kind-of magically become a new wave-ish rock band and turn the entire ceremony into a party. Disregard other reviews that peg this film as garbage; those people JUST DON'T GET IT! This film delivers non-stop idiocy in a way that "Preppies" and many other teen sex comedies of the day fail to live up to. "Loose Screws" is truly unhinged! FYI: The Summer school exteriors were filmed at St. Andrews College in Auroura, Ontario. Pay special attention to the scenes shot on a chilly, dismal Toronto "beach". There is also a great second-story-window-fall which looks really quite painful (couldn't afford a stunt man?). The soundtrack was never released, but one of the musical highlights is available on used vinyl: "Circular Impressions" by The Extras.

After watching this movie more than 6 or 7 times, it remains a hilarious experience.Granted, not everyone will share my enthusiasm for the adventures of Marvin Eatmore, Steve Hardman, Hugh G. Rection, and Brad Lovett, but if you are willing to set your brain on neutral for an hour and a half, you WILL be entertained.Basically the four guys, after failing grade 12 four times, are sent to Coxwell Academy for the summer as a last chance to get their high school diplomas. Their teenage libidos raging, the four quickly start a game to see who can score with the most girls that summer. It is best summarized by Brad, who offers, "10 points for every girl you score with, 5 for an almost, and 2 for a look-see." in their own creative ways, the four embark on a sexual journey full of mishaps and hilarity. As an interesting side note, Canadian comedian Mike Macdonald fills the role of Principal Arsenault, out to ensure the boys' summer is a living hell. Vying for the affection of both the principal and the guys is the French Teacher, Mona Lott (yes, that is her real name). Again, more hilarity ensues. This movie is absolutely ridiculous, but outrageously funny. Granted, many of the jokes are rehashed from the original "Screwballs", "Loose Screws" offers its own unique take on a strip club journey, beach party, sneaking a boy into the girls' dorm, and a thrilling 'climax' at the end. Come on, how can a guy pretending to be a girl who is forced to have a bath, only to find a single tub left that he must share with an innocent co-ed who happens to be blinded by her missing glasses not funny? On top of all this, the soundtrack is amazing, featuring such classics as The Extras "Circular Impression", "Screw It" and "Loose Screws." Rent Loose Screws if you and some friends want to laugh harder than you have in a long time.Enjoy!
