The acting was bad and had no meaning. It just kept repeating the fact that Rahul drinks and messes up. It just keeps repeating that same thing throughout the film, "Rahul does something stupid and drinks then gets mad at Arohi". Horrible I wasted my time watching it.

I have to admit that the songs in this film are classics of the latest years(Tum hi ho, sunn raha hai, ham mar jeyenge etc.), but the plot of the film has copied A Star Is Born starred Barbra Streisand in 1976, the concert at the start of the film, the suicide of the male singer are the same and even there are also some exaggerations of the facts(like the singer had gone to London and new York and held concert there). Indian film makers always want to prove themselves in a quicker way so they think the best way to achieve the fame and box office is to imitate the classics of western cinema.they think that with some glamorous dancing and singing, the film they made will be received well from the public. The success of aashiqui 2 depends on the playback singer Arijit Singh, Palak Muchal, Tulsi Kumar and Shreya Ghoshal. Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in the film of A Star Is Born are real singers. They sing all the song without any playback singers. But Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy just move their lips in the film to match the lyrics, I think it's the biggest difference between western film and Indian film.

The reason why I can't attach to this movie is why should a celebrity singer (hero) should be bothered about what public speaks about his personal life? Isn't it enough that he remains true to his conscience? There the movie goes unimpressive for me.Rest of all are too cinematic and after a while you predict what will happen and it just happens at climax.I understand a happy ending too would have looked lame after a while. But if the director had heart to unite the lovers, it would be possible with some changes in screenplay. That could be a better story than this.Simply can't accept hero's suicide decision. The movie had all the scope that hero and heroine could have lead happier and successful life individually and together too... But director liked that sad way, me obviously sad for that sad climax which I watched predicting before it happens.

My sister watched this movie first. And she told me to have a handkerchief before watching the movie. Reason: the movie is so emotional that she thought I won't be able to control my tears. It made me too excited and I watched it. While watching, I kept on thinking that my sister had lied because nothing such happen. But suddenly, in a scene where Aarohi talks to RJ's uncle saying that she was ready to leave everything to get into RJ's world (sharab ki duniya), I couldn't help myself. And I realized my sister was right to some extent. The performances by the new comers are great. Director has also done quite a good job. The movie is romantic. My friends say that it's too much romantic (Aarohi... Kuch nahi, bus yuhi) and they don't like the way the movie ended. But for me, despite some mistakes, everything's fine, the whole movie is nice. Background music and songs are awesome, gonna be favorites for everyone. I recommend don't listen to critics, you watch it.
