This movie is very different from what you think a movie of the story Jesus would be. I have seen so many that I was a bit unsure of watching it mainly because its the same story over and over again. But I found that the movie shows us a normal guys Jesus that has no super powers and that is only trying to pass a message. They said what I always thought it happened, the followers of Jesus might have stolen the body so people would think Jesus resurrected. He came back, yes he did but not like we were told he did. He came back as a thought, an ideal, and he is still alive and among us because 2000 years later we still talk about him. The kingdom of God is within us.

Firstly I have no idea why the negative reviews, watch this as you would any National Geo production. I believe that this is a closer representation of the life of Jesus than Jesus of Nazareth. It was great to see an Arab actor playing Jesus as this is more believable.See this as what it is, an honest look using only historical facts of a story. I think Haaz Sleiman is brilliant playing Jesus & so is Stephen Moyer as Pontius Pilate. I understand that this will not be for devout Christians, but open minded people who are willing to take another view of a story.I was reluctant watching this as I am not a fan of Bill O'Reilly, but I decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised, I think maybe his strength is in writing rather than television.

I found this film highly watchable. It was excellent viewing. It presented the historical context of Jesus's life in an intelligent way, explaining the tensions and conflicts between the Romans, their Jewish puppets and the people. There are many moving scenes. Judas and his betrayal are treated in a refreshingly new way, avoiding stereotypes. There is something real and gritty about the portrayal which neither of confirms nor denies that Jesus was truly the son of God. This is a film which can move and appeal to even non- believers because there are no incredible miracles; only a brave and charismatic man preaching a new creed of love and forgiveness in a society where stoning was still the punishment for adultery. You don't have to believe in God to be humbled and moved by this powerful story of that message, and how Jesus paid the ultimate price for confronting and challenging the Jewish religious authorities.

Who is it that is really under attack here. Jesus Christ? Or some anchor from Fox TV. Let's back up several steps. I have heard the negative criticism here. And I am asking myself , what is REALLY ing on here? How did a movie that seemed to just as easily tinker with emotions from about a decade ago from a man on the right wing seem to do so wonderfully well yet this do so pathetically awful? Aren't we using a double standard? Additionally a mini series on a network in competition with national geographical a mainstream network mind you is also not receiving such glowing praise . Not so mercilessly as bill o Reilly , but it just goes to show you what will happen ,when you try to stand against the masses , you find out why toilet paper is white. I found this out at an Indiana news log
