This movie was decent and like all movies that have a low budget they try to make up for that with blood. In this case it kinda worked. The story is basically about a guy named mark who gets abducted and comes back a couple years later as a alien. It's one of the movies that include many type of thing like a combination of the body snatchers and splinter. I admit that the story line wasn't that bad and even though I expected more gore ( even though it's pretty gory) it was an okay movie. Some people would rate it lower them only reason why I didn't rate it lower was because I expected a stupid movie. It's one of those movies that tries every way to be as gory as possible to entertain the viewer. The affects were okay the blood was good the alien tongue that mark has looks really fake but it's okay. And of course many people die and the movie ends like most movie ends with something else that might happen. All and all its an okay movie to watch if you like those type of things that I listed above but it one of those movies that you could laugh while you watch with your friends.

What stunned me when watching this film was the sheer, unstoppable, intensity of atmosphere all the way through. All down to the director. The film's tone was partially reality movie (like Blair Witch/Paranormal et al) and partially real movie (great chilling music) and the fact the actors didn't look like they were acting, but were just saying/doing their parts gave an edge of reality to the movie that sucked me in and held me there. I'm not too sure WHAT was making the atmosphere so intense but I was a rabbit in the movie's headlights the whole way through. The killings were good. There were hardly any special effects, and you didn't think there were going to be any, so the first time you see them (I'm NOT saying what happens so no spoilers here!) you're surprised/shocked. Yet even then you feel, somehow, you're there, that he could turn round and you'd be next. It's like one of those nightmares where you're witnessing terrors happening to everyone else in the dream bar you, yet you know your turn is coming and you're trying to wake up before it does. Brilliantly directed movie making excellent use of what little it has. Ignore the idiots calling it 'boring' 'badly acted', if you want a movie that hooks you like a silent scream in your mind and never lets you go till the end, that's the one. I loved it. Best low-budget movie I've seen in a very long time. Don't know if the TV series is based on it but, if it is, that should be great too. (If it's not, ignore that sentence. Never seen the series. Wrong country here!) Ignore the moaning idiots. For intensity of atmosphere, this one's a winner and well worthy of an 8. WOuld've been a 9 if the acting was a bit better! Watch it. Chris.

There are NO ORIGINAL IDEAS in this movie. The plot is nothing but the best parts from several other movies COPIED BADLY; including John Carpenter's signature opening credit font and Derry, Maine the fictional town created by Stephen King. Don't copy someone unless you're capable of doing it better than them. And there's a difference between paying homage and BLATANTLY COPYING. The small budget is no excuse for not using their own ideas. Don't waste a single second of your time on this COPYCAT MOVIE. Instead watch or re-watch the movies they blatantly copied from: A lot was copied from "FIRE IN THE SKY"(1993). The shrieking is from "THE THING" (1982). All the other parts are from: "HALLOWEEN" (1978). "THE SHINING" (1980). "THE EVIL DEAD"(1981). "THE HIDDEN" (1987). "SLITHER" (2006). "FRIDAY THE 13TH". "INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS" etc., etc., etc.

Seriously, the last half of the movie is flooded with crickets...despite it obviously being winter, or at least cold outside. Okay. 10 star review? Dump that. Hilarious. If this is a 10 star movie, this is either the only movie you ever saw and it appeals specifically to you OR..you're buddies with the director...take your pick. Despite all of this..."Almost Human" is decent. It ain't horrible, but it's not great or even cult level acceptable. It's a low budget, gory, alien indie flick with mostly substandard acting and a pretty thin plot. Dude gets abducted. Dude returns. Dude is alien hybrid on a murder spree and wants to convert us all to aliens via a phallic mouth tube he spits into folks mouth AND he wants to get back with his old girlfriend. Dude's buddy knows it's going down and dog-gone-it he's gonna FIGHT BACK! Yeah! I'd be proud if I made this flick...but I have no experience in cinematography...so there's that. Watch if your in the mood to see that bearded dude kill some people but forget the plot. Why the aliens chose this country dude to take over the world and not a politician, celebrity, or even a prostitute...one can only wonder. I'm not hating...just sayin.
