I just finished watching this movie and rush to my computer to find out more about it. I can't believe I never heard anything about it before, being released only 3 years ago. This movie deserves much better recognition. The soundtrack is EXCELLENT, the acting and the plot are VERY GOOD... and the roller dancing scenes THE BEST I've ever seen. Even if you don't like disco music, you should see this movie. It probably can make you feel what that era was all about: having fun and feeling good. I agree that most disco based movies are bad (Thank God It's Friday and Roller Boogie come to mind), but this one is a big exception. It's also a terrific family movie you can enjoy with your kids. I'm gonna buy it right now and add it to my collection. Enough said.

I loved this movie. I didn't think I would but I found myself glued to the set. Bow Wow did a good job and the young cast of guys as his friends were funny. I also love the to girls. The character Tori reminds me of a girl from school was was an ugly duckling on minute then the next she's a hottie. Megan Good is just AMAZINGLY beautiful. Sweetness was SOOOOOO funny. Just the way that character was written just was awesome. I also loved his group that rolled with him. They were funny as well. Mike Epps and Charlie Murphy providing the comic relief was a great touch. All in all it was well worth the watch and I just might rewatch again one day.It wasn't the greatest thing ever but it wasn't as bad as most people have said it was.

Maybe it was low expectations after seeing several middling pics in a row- but I was pleasantly surprised by Roll Bounce - an charming and fun flick about teens in the roller disco era- Bow Wow was the lead in this movie playing X a son who is still grieving for his recently deceased mother.Chi Mcbride does a great job as a father who is looking for work while trying to hold his family together and deal with the passing of his beloved. For the most part this is a comedy- the kids cut on each other the whole flick- and it is fun.The crosstown rival is Sweetness- who is like the pimpdaddy of roller disco- he has an entourage including 3 hotties who have shirts that read "a weakness for Sweetness".The gag reel has some hilarious stuff with Charlie Murphy riffing .A good coming of age flick. Probably the second best rental coming out this week-right behind 40 Year Old Virgin B+

I have seen this movie for like the 5th time. I think it is an awesome movie.Good movie for the kids, no sex or harsh language. One bad word in the whole movie and trust me most kids hear that word ever day I remember the age of roller disco and the movie brought back some really cool memories. My daughter loves BOW WOW and she has watched it several times with me. My husband, who mind you did not want to see it, actually enjoyed the movie.I laughed and i cried and put on my skates and tried to roller disco. Being in the roller derby, that was a given. Bow Wow was great in the movie. I would suggest this movie to anyone, whether they grew up with roller disco, have heard of roller disco or have never heard of roller disco. Roller disco will come back one day just like the roller derby did.. Go Harrisburg Area Roller Derby
