Viewer beware the swathe of positive reviews on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes that spontaneously came out when this film was released. This is truly awful. The plot is dire, the acting dreadful - there is nothing to recommend it. The film was produced in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Tourism and Turkish Airlines and is a shameless video postcard for the country. I got mugged by the positive reviews and we selected this as a family film to watch - we couldn't even finish it. I only hope this warning will save other people their time and money!
I am so proud of everyone involved in this film. A really unique kind of indie rom-com with some gorgeous sequences set in Turkey and two charming leads. This isn't the most surprising of rollercoasters, or the most accomplished thing I've ever seen cinematographically, but as a first feature I think it fully deserves this high rating. Also, I want to see Ashley Clements do more things, always.
Non-Transferable made me laugh and cry at the same time, which is pretty much the best thing I can say about a film. This film is beautifully shot and well cast. The characters are extremely endearing. Josh and Amy are especially funny as seemingly polar opposites, but side characters are also brilliant and relevant to the plot. The story-line is funny, yet very honest. Love it!
If you are looking for a well acted Romantic Comedy that has a believable plot, this is it. Non-Transferable is Funny, Witty and Smart. You almost immediately relate and care about the main character , played by Ashley Clements. A feel-good, afternoon on the couch with popcorn flick. And the locations! Beautifully filmed. Kudos to Brendan Bradley writing and directing a RomCom that keeps you engaged.
