There really is only one way to enjoy Kung Fu Rascals, and that is with several friends who appreciate Asian films and while drinking. Anything else will leave you with an inferior Rascals experience. The laughs during the first 2/3rds of the film were frequent and loud; while the film drags during the end (a fight between two absurd sand-giants) the campy, ridiculous dialogue and ludicrous overacting make this a crowd pleaser. Raspmutant the Pig monk. Bamboo Man. A queer kung fu fighter named Dar Ling. Chicken-fu. Explosive farts. Les Claypool as a wicked sheriff. Toupee torture. A gingerbread man who holds the key to power most big. If you're still not jonesing to see this film, I cannot help you.Did I mention the budget for this film was likely under $30,000? No? Oh, you'll see...Recommended, but again, friends and mind altering substances are probably essential for enjoyment of Kung Fu Rascals.

Back in the early - mid 90's, my friends and I came across this little flick that soon became all the rave for our little cult of viewing pleasure. This movie is without a doubt a must see for any person who is into the old Hong Kong Kung Fu movies that I had grown up on watching late at night on the local mandarin channel (Midnight Kung Fu Theatre, baby!). This movie is all about laughs, do not take it seriously as a "Kung Fu" flick... it's more of a spoof of asian films. I would say this movie is made up of three mixes. It's part Jacky Chan, part Godzilla and part American Westerns. This movie is incredibly funny for those who have are in the mood for childish humor, and have an understanding of asian cinema.

Plot is not an option here, but kung-fu parody, good choreography, and alot of comedy makes this film fun. Anytime one of the main villains of the film is a mutant shaolin buddhist pig, you have a gem on your hands. The film does drag towards the end, especially after Claypool's character ( a classic in any writer's book) is beaten. The homosexual character is also hilarious and you got to see this movie to believe chicken kung fu! Wang also did The Guyver films.

this movie is goofy and dumb, but is worth checking out for one reason: it stars Les Claypool, bass player extraordinare for the great band PRIMUS. he stars as an evil sheriff and actually does quite a good job.I did like the fact how the movie tried to skewer all kung fu film cliches in 90 minutes but overall it just doesn't hang together that well, but it does succeed on a so stupid it's cool level.
