If you are a commercial movie lover/don't see much logic in movies, just want to pass time without much boring, then this is one of the movies for u.But for the other category - movie lovers - its not worth the money but its not boring to the core either.Coming to the point.. though they are few, there are some pros.Taapsee Pannu - big plus having such a performing glamorous artist than just being a glamorous doll. She performed quiet well as a possessed one. She did more than a normal heroine because she was given the space.Nithya Menon - first time in a aggressive role. did pretty much OK. great learning experience for her and she is the one to lookout for in near future. At some parts, BGM really did the trick but only at very few parts.Don't want to go into cons as there are many. VFX, logical plot holes (many) etc.. except the intro song and child song, nothing else works out.Overall - if you are really afraid of possession, really anxious to see horror-com movies, then go for it. it wont bore you.It is surely a commercial success but for movie lovers/critics, please stay off it!!!Muni3 - treat for commercial movie lovers - B(partly) and C centers.Hope the next installment goes well among critics too.. coz if it goes well with critics, it will stand long.

Lawrence's Muni, released back in 2007 gave good ground for Horror-Comedies,a genre not so popular in Kollywood, which was followed by quite a good number of similar films that succeeded in ringing bells at the Kollywood Box-Office.The highly successful Kanchana released in 2011 saw the rise of a popular franchise in the name with Raghava Lawrence concreting his deftness as an accomplished actor, writer, dancer and director.Kanchana 2 is no exception from the previous films in the franchise and offers a decent mix of humor, horror, action, drama and sentiments utilizing an average screenplay written by Raghava himself. But in comparison with the previous parts,Kanchana 2 has a weaker storyline with the second half in particular being too lengthy and predictable, calling for a tighter screenplay which could have provided more impact especially while presenting the typical flash back sequence which looked jaded and carelessly narrated except for a beautiful melody between the lead pair. Many sequences post the interval were loud and over the top,in a way decreasing the eagerness of viewers in the proceedings. The over-stretched climax fight which utilized generous amounts of VFX didn't make much impact on screen.Luckily, the storyline that stuffs slapstick humor inside routine horror backdrop, with its share of flaws, manages to keep the audience hooked till the end by the virtue of hilarious comedy sequences lead by Kovai Sarala, some good performances, peppy and well-choreographed songs, adequate doze of action and few notable horror sequences.Performancewise,Raghava Lawrence was pretty impressive and gave a really energetic performance with controlled emotions showcasing his versatility in handling different characters.Kovai Sarala was hilarious and tickled the fun bones with her hilarious one-liners.Taapsee was impressive and gave a matured performance.Nithya Menen did her part well even-though her character was half-baked.Among others Mayilsami,Sriman etc were good and supported the leads well.Songs by Thaman,Leon James,Sathya and Ashwamithra were pretty impressive and all the songs can boast of excellent choreography by Lawrence alike his films from the past.Cinematography by Rajavel Olhiveeran was good and editing by Late Kishore T.E was OK.Overall,Kanchana 2 is a typical horror-comedy without much freshness in the storyline targeted at the mass audience.Verdict::Kanchana 2 replicates the formula from previous films in the Muni franchise giving rise to a pretty average screenplay without any freshness to point out.Even=though clichéd big-time this Lawrence film is successful in providing satisfactory thrills to call it a decent one-time-watch for the masses looking for just fun and entertainment.Watch it if you are a fan of the series. Ma Rating::6.5/10 _Afsal

I feel this film was a great laugh and feel the first half was better than the second. The story wasn't too sophisticated but it was good. However once the film got to the second half it seemed to drag. Parts of the haunted spirits scaring the two ladies overran and the final fight sequence went on a bit too long. The special effects were excellent, the comedy was simple but effective. The actors were excellent and the chemistry between them was good. The trick i think with these movies is a simple storyline and simple jokes, which it delivered on. In the second half the story of how the spirits became spirits i feel was overdragged.Overall I think the film was very entertaining but a bit on the long side. Worth a watch.

The movie started well with good comedy and Goosebumps. The background score was the main plus point in this movie .Lawrence plays Raghava the cameraman - an extremely cowardice person, especially to spirits and ghosts. His fear is so believable that you begin to see him as a different person, when he plays the fearless Shiva in the second half. And his dance - take a bow! But stealing the show is Taapsee. From fearless to frightening, from strict and stern professional to the melting romantic, her expressions are bang on target. She plays Nandhini, the fearless director of the TV show, who plots to simulate ghosts into the screen, given her strong disbelief in the concept of spirits. Her excitement gets her hands on the spirit's possession, and this turns the wheel. For the second time in a row, and she is undoubtedly the best of the lot in comic relief! Aiding comedy, alongside the Raghava Lawrence are Mayilsamy, Manobala, Sriman and others. Nithya Menon is the much awaited twist in the story; without breaking the suspense, all we would promise is that her role and performance is sure to move you.
