I found Confessions Of A Trickbaby highly entertaining. Its a quirky 'road movie'with elements of 'Bad Taste'-budget gore and twisted laughs are to be had. I do not think it will appeal to the masses but fans of films such as Bad Taste, Palindromes, The Doom Generation, and perhaps films made by Troma should appreciate this. The plot is easily followed by the viewer and the sheer absurdity of the characters intrigue. The good thing about low budget films is that the film must then rely on creativity and in this film the outlandish humour and bizarre atmosphere it creates make for an original film. It is by no means 'inteligent' in terms of getting a message across nor in terms of having a complex plot, however, it does work its way towards a climax in its own strange way.

This movie shows Hansel and Gretle in a whole new picture... and no cottage made of candy will be found, even though it metaphorically shows! Its full of tasty scenes that make you wonder, though! I've never been in jail, and I am not completely off of the sane-train like these two girls are, but I'm sure that some of this can be considered realistic. Not the ending parts, where it gets out of control with the fairy tale essence; just use common sense to get what I mean. The only thing that I would change about this movie would be the beginning where she is tossing her chunks for half of my lifetime. Other than that, I am in love with this movie!

to give you an idea of exactly how over the top this movie is heres some of the key elements present:bulimia/vomiting lesbianism amputees necrophilia serial murder transvestitism child abuse/torture cannibalism prostitution drugs (crack, huffing paint, drinking in the shower)if you like that sort of thing i can practically guarantee this will become one of your favorite movies ever. Natasha lyonne gives easily her best, funniest performance and any fan of her work should stop at nothing to seek this out (although its not easy). same for Vincent gallo. Matthew brite is a sick genius and this is the most perverse, depraved, funny and entertaining film in his catalog.

Every once in a while you get to watch something out of the blue that totally spins your head. I watched this with absolutely zero expectations, and came out a very happy person. It's best described as a comedy drama thriller, in the same kind of vein as Rodriguez and Tarantino, but much more off-kilter and quirky. The movie is blatantly designed to either shock you into thinking it's trash or get you cackling darkly away to yourself. It will either have you rooting for its characters or make you wonder what on earth you're watching. As far as this movie's content is concerned, there is a line you're not supposed to cross and to all involved that line is a dot way back on the horizon. It revels in excess and discomfort, far more than the previously mentioned directors, and as a result you'll either love it or hate it.Thing is, I love it. Yeah, it's violent, trashy and sick but the characters are some of the most convincingly 'real' people I've seen in a movie and the full bodied way they are written gives the movie a liveliness lacking from many far more mainstream and 'normal' films. The two main protagonists, a repeat young offender and a serial killer are in a stroke of genius both vivid, believable and easy to sympathise with, making the movie a joy to sit through, and giving most of the events much more weight than if they'd been handled by other film makers. Despite what people say, movies are made or broken by their script and characters, not who directed them or how many filming techniques got crammed in, and this movie has good scripting in spades. If you have a strong stomach and liberal sensibilities, it makes sense to watch this film, as you'll have a blast. If you find the idea of lesbian serial killers, group vomiting and transvestite Mexican witches a little too much for your poor brain, then this movie is probably to be avoided. I recommend this to my fellow loonies, the others may be safer watching Kill Bill again, but damn, they're missing out.
