Bearing in mind that I do not speak Hindi and I watched this movie purely with subtitles alone, I have to say I really enjoyed it. My husband is a fluent Hindi speaker who watches Indian movies all the time and I have to be brutally honest and say that I think the Bollywood scene is and always has, been lacking any extraordinary talent. To say that Vivek Oberoi is merely mediocre is to say that the majority of Indian actors are terrible! I do not enjoy the melodramatics, fake crying aka wailing and the stereotype that Indian women are all backstabbing bitches so, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na was a breath of fresh air in the respect that it told a unique love story about true love versus arranged marriage which is an aspect of eastern culture that many westerns are curious and sometimes misinformed about. The music was lovely, especially Dheere Dheere which I often have on repeat. Vivek Oberoi did play something of a childish character but I think it is important to understand that he was written to be this person and that immaturity was part of his reasons for not wanting to take the time and effort to fall in love naturally. There were aspects of the plot that lacked, of course, such as the orphanage subplot which to me was really just 'filler time' because it is traditional almost that Indian movies will be, at times, tediously long. I also found no point to the character of the so called 'Big B' but this could be mostly because I do not have any appreciation for his acting, perhaps because he's not from 'my time'.All in all, I would say that for a sad story about love and life, Kyun Ho Gaya Na is worth reading the subtitles for.

I found this movie charming. If you want to relax, to laugh and to live a love story...that's the movie. It's not a monument of smartness or intrigues...But the simplicity (at times), reality (other times), and the unexpected retorts ...are magnificent. Your heart is melting, your eyes are shining, and your face is smiling...I was conquered... The love story is much more "intelligent"...not the habitual one (he falls in love, she does it too but then come the problems)...this one is much more interesting ...there are fights and foolish things, contradictions and unexpected reactions, and even when there is sadness...there is a smile in it...Take your time and see it, especially if you are a romantic and funny person...but take your girlfriend/ boyfriend with you. You'll love it.

i really don't understand where all the lack of enthusiasm is coming from! i absolutely loved the movie! i must say that i think the 1st part is better than the 2nd, but nevertheless it was a very funny movie with lots to offer. it was neither boring nor cliché! and i must say that the major asset to this movie were the great songs. since i am a great fan of bollywood i have seen many but these are very up to date and in my opinion very beneficial to the movie! I think that vivek oberoi was great, he is not only hansom but can dance amazingly, fabulous sense of rhythm. aishwarya beautiful as she is was in my opinion slightly irritating. but overall both main actors did a great job. also the great Amitabh Bachchan who in every movie proves his skill. in my opinion this movie deserves two thumbs up. enjoy !!

This (Kyun? Ho Gaya Na)has got to be one of the BEST Bollywood Romantic Comedies ever! The story line is great and it's great to see Aishwarya in a modern role and she look Hot as usual. The acting by all was great and NOT over done. The perfect amount of comedy, romance, emotions and backdrops. The appearances by A. Bachchan and Suniel Shetty is great!!! Music is good too. Aish and Vivek seem to work well together with the perfect type and amount of chemistry needed for this movie. The ending has a great little twist that just makes the movie soar expectations. Ignore what the critics have said against it and judge it for yourself. I definitely recommended for any day of the week!
