For those interested in the life of Sembene and his works (Borom Sarret, Xala, Moolaade etc) then this documentary is for you. The film makers capture the history, the struggle and the art of this great man and attempt to create a full and detailed portrayal of his works whilst explaining the troubles in Africa under white rule and the way in which he felt it necessary to allow the Black African people to finally have a voice, through the medium of film.. A must for any Third Cinema or African Cinema enthusiast. Sadly this work is not the easiest to come by and, as far as I know, is not available on DVD but if you can track down a copy, try to do so.
