The Department of Emotional Integrity (DEI) documents all relationship activity. A 'relationship score' is given to keep people accountable for their choices. The score is public for all to see, and affects various aspects of daily life. I was shocked it was at 7 but I realize it's ONLY from the first 3 seconds of their youtube intro *bing* WongFuThe most overplayed cliches played out in what felt like a dragged out version of one of their youtube shorts. Things like this are meant for a short. I get that people are blinded by their name rather than watching the movie for what it is. Call us haters but the movie was bad.

i really wanted to watch this movie... I had seen most of the other wongfu shorts and love them all! With this one, it's different cause it's a full length movies so I wasn't sure how wongfu would handle this one. However, they did pretty damn well! The acting was pretty top notch, especially Randall park and Aaron yoo, and the cast was just a great choice. The story reflects how love is not easy, which is a great concept and thingy... We can relate to it in many ways, but I don't wanna spoil it. What I will say is that things change between the two couples; we can probs most easily relate to the younger couple as it seems as if everything is fresh and great, but that isn't how it will always go. With the adult couple, it's completely different and it can reflect how you are after breaking up with someone you deeply love. Overall, a great film however it's not perfect, a few small flaws here and there. I recommend you rent it for about $6!

I have been a big supporter of Wong Fu Productions and to be able to witness their growth from the Youtube medium to film is inspiring. They have mentioned in their Q&A that they had intended for this film to be viewed from home on a computer, so I tried to be as lenient as possible when each scene seemed to be a short of their own. Despite this precondition, Wong Fu only proves that they have fallen prey to their Youtube success of milking empty moments, cheap pauses and vague dialogue.I enjoyed the immediate parallels of emotions and intentions of each individual, and the classic sense of humor found in their Youtube shorts. Wong Fu still has a lot to learn on creating stories built on substantive context, because good stories provide context. I was left so many questions about how the DEI score determined, what kind of institution it is (DEI appears to be a bank, but is ultimately unidentifiable throughout the movie) and backgrounds of the characters and why they ended up making the decisions they did. I cringed when they started the movie the same way they started their trailer.I'm not a professional critic, but I've laid out my concerns in hopes to see more of Wong Fu and Asian Americans in films. There just isn't much point to spending two hours with the optional Youtube star cameo without a good story. I will go out to say that lazy writing is the sole detriment to this film, if I had to choose.

I don't really know what compelled me to pay $5 for this movie because I don't necessarily enjoy their romantic short films, but I did. It's not a horrible movie. It had some good parts, specifically with the older actors. Vimeo really made the experience crappy, as I couldn't log in to finish the movie. Wong Fu uses the same tropes over and over again. All of their shorts and this film are romantic. It just gets kind of old after a while. I think Wong Fu understands their fan base(teenage girls), but at some point they need to change it up. I found some parts to be slightly cringe worthy.
