It seems that for every one tolerable "found footage" film there are at least ten terrible efforts. This monstrosity falls squarely in the latter category.A group of six or so douches (not literal douches, but no one to root for, either) set out at an abandoned dormitory in Chicago to make a documentary about mass murderer Richard Speck, who killed eight nurses in one night in 1966. This isn't just any documentary, they want to capture the ghost of Speck on video (he died in prison almost twenty years ago), and luckily have the necessary ghost hunting equipment like EVP devices, sensitive microphones, infrared video recording technology, and, most importantly, a remote-control toy truck named Clyde with a teeny-tiny camera on it.I'm not going to bother you with characters' names and such (one poor guy is killed within thirty seconds of the film's beginning) because the film is shot so badly I couldn't tell half the cast apart. The two dude cameramen look exactly alike, as do two blonde female crew members. One scene has a camera guy and one of the blondes exploring on their own, and I had no clue who I was looking at. The special effects include lots of blood smudges, and people getting dragged away by unseen forces (could we call a moratorium on THAT?). There is no credited cast or crew, since this was "found at the scene," and somehow expertly cobbled together by the Chicago Police Department's in-house found footage editing task force.Richard Speck was a disgusting piece of humanity. Google his name, and thousands of articles pop up detailing his crimes, and his shocking existence in jail. An infamous video surfaced years ago showing him performing oral sex on another inmate, taking drugs, and sporting female-like breasts thanks to smuggled hormones; all while being incarcerated. It seems the screenwriter couldn't even get the basic story of the crime right, and huge errors abound throughout the film. Getting actors to improvise can sometimes work, but here everyone screams at each other trying to be heard, resulting in something much less than Altmanesque. This technique is simply lazy writing. Giving people a general direction ("you're scared") with little characterization, then yelling "action" is obviously not working in this genre, and I once sat through a film called "Amber Alert" that illustrates this point even better. There is a distasteful scene involving spectral rape that would serve as a low point in any film, much less a cheap found footage horror flick that somehow found its way onto a streaming service. The only plus is the abandoned hospital (in Los Angeles) that serves as the film's location."100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck" is pure garbage. The explanation of the title is too stupid to be believed, and so is the rest of the film.

First off -> DO NOT trust the bad reviews! This is a perfectly good movie! (well, the story has been told so many times, but so what) The story is the usual stuff. The acting is good. The build up is good. The scares are good. The visuals are good. The whole scenery is good. I have no idea why people rate this as bad. Because I can assure you that that is NOT the case!I watch A LOT of movies. I know bad when I see it. I have been wanting to see this movie a lot of times but always ended up seeing one I knew was good because of the bad reviews, but now I just thought "Well - I'll just give it a go." And I am glad I did!The story reminds a lot of Grave Encounters. They lock themselves in a building hoping for to catch a glimpse of a ghost and/or multiple ghosts. I just had to write this review so that people would know that this movies deserves the chance to be watched!Overall I would give this movie 8/10 (they story should have been different since we all know it) but I rated it 10 because it's underrated on IMDb.

Read the reviews, and while this isn't the best movie, I think the cast did well. As an actor, I think they did well with what they had. I've seen much , much worse acting. In bigger budget films. Is this movie scary? Yes. Is this movie entertaining? Yes. I think this is a good low budget horror movie, with a talented cast. Which is rare. Usually they have maybe two or three good actors, and the rest are painful in real inde movies. This just isn't the case here. Everyone was good. My biggest complaint here was that it didn't make sense at some key parts. First of all, OK, if this was ah real ghost hunting team, they would have been losing their minds with the first tap on the wall. They would have been in ghost chasing heaven , k? So this Ghost Hunting team, instead of attributing all of these obvious paranormal responses runs around going " weird." "That was a draft, guys!" " that's pipes. That happens. It's not possible for that to be a ghost, guys." "You don't know how many people are in prison for murder, that's all we are facing here " and that's after they saw the ghost and got their neck sliced by air! The other thing that bugged was after the first girl was attacked , they gave her a sleeping pill and yelled at her like she was a loser for getting attacked. OK, if this was a real ghost hunting team, they would have sent that girl home, right away and probably stopped the entire investigation. So having skeptics and slut shame-rs be the main protagonists sucked.. Ruined it for me. But there were some real frightening and creepy moments , esp at the end. I think if I didn't know as much about ghost hunting , this would have really scared me!!

Paranormal Entity 4: The Awakening AKA 100 Ghost Street Aka 100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck (2012)This is kind of a re-watch, I only saw half of it the last times, I wasn't really in the mood to watch a found footage at the time. However I did watch this movie in full today, In 2010, paranormal investigators tried to film Richard Speck's ghost at the site of his heinous killing spree. The victims' families have finally released the footage that documents their last days. The movie wasn't that bad, I thought it was better then PE 2 Gacy House (2010) and I didn't find any of it funny, which is a good thing about this movie. I found two decent creepy scenes, with i thought were really well done, this is kind of mix of slasher and Ghost movie at the same time. People are being killed off, one by one by this invisible force. In the second part of the movie, the kills were decent and so-what gory, One of the reason I liked this movie more then I should. I didn't find this movie boring at all, they were some slow parts in this but they Stll kept me watching, until the end.I thought it was decent, for a found footage movie and the acting was decent from some of the cast, there were a few really wooden actors. 4/10 Worth watching.
