DEVIL FETUS 2: THE RAPE AFTER is a follow up to the icky original, once again telling the story of characters who end up being subjected to supernatural mayhem. Playboy Melvin Wong is the anti-hero of the piece, whose fast living spells disaster for the women he picks up. His handling of a strangely demonic statue leads to an outrageous monster rape scene early on which is undoubtedly inspired by THE ENTITY and has some similar-style FX. Later, there's a fiery accident, a grotesque morgue scene, and a briefly-shot demonic baby that randomly vanishes and doesn't really justify the title. The latter part of the film is dominated by female spirit mayhem and features Buddhist monks battling black magic. The emphasis is unsurprisingly on visceral nastiness, with plenty of rotting bodies, shots of slime and goo, and generally undershot nastiness. I found the production values to be a bit too low and the depicted action a bit too slapdash for this to be fully effective, but Hong Kong horror addicts will get a kick out of it.

We got a peculiar flick here. One second it appears to be a legit, classic HK horror flick, as it's atmosphere and overall macabre story is basically pretty grim dealings. But then the next moment, because of maybe it's loose style of story-telling, lack of effective chills, and feelings of familiar territory, it comes off pretty average, and occasionally slightly boring.A model photographer/thief has the hots for the new girl. Well, not really, but he does want to bang her. I don't see why he would, she's kinda got a man-thing going on. Honestly, if she wanted to grow a beard, she's got the jaw line so it could work. But anyways, he tries getting her in the sack, but instead just gets them both loaded, and sick, causing them to both pass out. Well, during the night, an evil statue that the sleazebag stole earlier manifests a demon, and the demon then, I guess, rapes the sleeping ladyboy. Gotta tell ya the truth, it didn't look like rape to me. But since the movie has the word in it's title, I'll go along with it. Anyways, she gets prego from the demon, she thinks naturally thinks it's the guy's, even though it's quite clear they both know they didn't bang. He passed out on the table fully dressed, where she was in the bed. Again, whatever....so the photographer starts neglecting his unborn child, they argue, and she accidentally perishes....then the story gets going as she cursed him before she died. Now the flick is a revenge story, with zombies (only a minuscule amount at the end), curses and magic flying at a decent pace. I wanted to like this movie, a lot. But it just never got me caring. I didn't dislike it mind you, but almost everything I've seen here (minus a couple choice gross scenes) I've seen in other comparable HK flicks. The gloomy, hazy, white/blue light atmosphere...the revenge, the curses, the puking (which there was a lot of, and done very well) the magic holy-men etc. I'm just saying, if you've seen a lot of these types of films, you'll most likely be cool with this film, but don't be surprised if you happen to come out of it feeling less than impressed. I suppose it's a decent starting point if you're not familiar with this standout Asian horror sub-genre, but if you're looking to jump into the deep end, I suggest looking into others first. 6.5/10p.s. What they should have done here is focused on the chick's 'retarded' brother from the beginning...him being the villain of the movie would have been creepy as hell.

I have no idea how the first reviewer can think that this is the most scary movie ever??? The plot sucks and has more holes than a moth-eaten sock. The ghost doesn't follow normal rules of engagement and the film just substitutes gore for true well written horror. Imagine monks being killed by a newly deceased spirit and people being possessed and killing themselves. Monks specialized in exorcising just die by strangulation! That is ridiculous. Guys, don't watch this one. Its not worth the time at all!Spend ur time elsewhere instead. i recommend watching The Haunted Cop Shop or Office yao guai instead if you want something that at least has some logic and provides a good time.

Only if you have a horror of boredom does this filmic compost pile qualify as a horror movie. From acting to directing to lighting to pacing to editing to continuity to monster and gore effects, the entire production is an exercise in how not to make a scary film... or a film of any kind.Note to filmmaker: vomit scenes are not a good substitute for a suspenseful storyline and interesting character development. You guessed it folks... lots of spewing in this one.It is clear that the people involved pooled their lunch money on a free weekend to put this mess together. Next time, EAT! Then go bowling.
