Certainly not as bad as some make out, this 1984 Winner movie filmed in New York does take a while to really get going. Rachael Kelly is excellent, albeit in awful 80s clothes, as the child who nobody will listen to when she says she and her mum are in danger from her step dad. The male and female leads help to ensure this is so slow to start with TV soap like performances. Eventually, however, Lolita Lorre and the tremendous Rocco Sisto enter the fray and the joint really starts to jump. Last third is fabulous home invasion stuff with Winner pulling no punches. With uncompromising and non PC approach including gratuitous sex, decently promoted this could have been successful exploitation fare but as it turns out, I for one had never even heard of it. Worth a look, well the second half anyway!

where do i even begin? this movie, beyond making me pee in my pants from fear, made me question the very roots of humanity. wherever the beautiful christy is now i wish she would come out of hiding and fix all our problems. From the moment the movie begins, you know you're in for something special. between the odd, out of place gore and the gratuitous sex scenes, it was hard to keep in mind the underlying struggle of finding out your stepdad wants to murder your mom. i mean, c'mon, we've all been there. after christy's best friend is gruesomely ran over, i cried when i heard the doctor say, your daughter is dead, until i realized it was the only way to get christy in bed with her dead best friends ex boyfriend. then, how could i cry when such joy was born of her death? wow. all in all this movie left me wondering why anyone ever tried to make a movie again after seeing this one. as the old saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

2 words: Lolita Lorre If there was ever a poll of the 10 most beautiful, sexiest actresses to only be in one movie, she would make the list. Now if you find yourself watching a movie with bad acting, bad writing, bad music, and bad cinematography, you really can only hope for 2 things- lots of gore, or lots of nudity. That's where lovely Lolita saves us. For those who care, I'll give a brief plot description(using actors names): Rachel Kelly, for little if any reason, comes to the suspect that her step-dad(David Brooks) is trying to kill her mother(Marie Masters). She turns out to be right, of course, and she also discovers, while following her step-dad, that he is cheating on her mother with Lolita Lorre. Rachel brings a camera to prove his infidelity, and thus we come to the movie's only saving grace. In a fairly graphic scene, Rachel witnesses the cheating couple through the bedroom window having sex "doggy style". She takes a Polaroid of them, which obviously makes her presence known, ruining the best 20 seconds of the movie. The aftermath of this does result in the funniest line in the movie however. As Lolita, David, and Rocco Sisto(playing Lolita's "brother"), search for Rachel, Rocco asks, "Which way did she go." Lolita's response, "I don't know. I was busy." This line actually is funny on more than one level because minutes later we find out that Rocco is, in fact, Lolita's husband. Lolita is only sleeping with David so they can blackmail him once he's killed his wife. Rocco doesn't mind his wife performing her duties, in his bed, while he watches TV in the next room, so long as she doesn't "enjoy" it. One has to wonder about the day these 2 knuckleheads hatched this plan: Lolita- Honey, this rich guy I met said he'd kill his wife just to be with me. Rocco- Hmmm, maybe there's a way we can profit from this. Lolita- Well, I'm guess I can string him along, I am very sexy... Rocco- No no, go ahead and start sleeping with him. He might suspect something if you aren't putting out. But honey, promise me you won't enjoy it. That's crossing the line.Lolita Lorre, one wonders what type of career you could've had if Cinemax existed back in your day. But your work will be remembered by at least one fan.

From the hit & run on Janie and on you you this is 100% pure cheese. I loved it though. This was a different step in the slasher filled horror movies of the 80s. "Scream" for help. Hmmp. Overall the acting is terrible by everyone. Story is alright. Rachel Kelly is a hottie. She is scream for help. Sort of a 80s version of Neve Campbell. Rentable.(6/10)
