We all were excited when we heard the Ajay Devgan-Emraan Hashmi crime thriller was getting a sequel. But before entering the theater, keep your expectations down. This isn't Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara. This isn't your crime edge of the seat thriller. It's a love triangle between a prince-a starlet-and an evil king. The prince is essayed by Imran Khan. Well, we didn't know what came over Ekta Kapoor on casting him. He is one of the weakest parts of the movie. His acting won't make you root for him.The starlet is Sonakshi Sinha. She is just the woman stuck between 2 gangsters. This isn't her big milestone in acting. She has done an average performance. The evil king is the talented Akshay Kumar! Believe me, he saved a worthless dumb story movie with his acting skills. This is one of those movies where instead of rooting for their hero, you're wanting the trophy to be handed to the villain.Other performances by Sonali Bendre, Mahesh Manjrekar, Abhimanyu Singh all are average. The songs were very pleasant to the ears. Best ones were "Yeh Tune Kya Kiya", "Chugliyaan" and "Tu Hi Khwahish"Remember, this isn't your crime thriller movie. It's a romantic one. Buy your popcorn and watch this for Akshay Kumar only...

First of all i would like to point out the prequel of this movie, once upon a time in mumbaai. This film was released widely in 2010 and praised for its innovative presentation which demonstrated the new trend of gangster flicks. Most importantly as a dreaded gangster shoahaib khan, emraan did a marvelous job. As an evil character he had immersed and beautifully crafted the role very well. We were really scared and terrified by him as a shoahaib Khan. OK, now come to this film which takes off directly with its predecessor, and highlights the return of evil prince, shoahaib khan (Akshay Kumar). After killing his mentor, sultan, shoahaib becomes most powerful underworld kingpin who reigns Bombay as per his wish. Unlike previous Bombay, which was peacefully reigned by sultan, present Bombay is totally ruined and terrified by him. He even disagrees to split Bombay among other gangsters who are disappointed by him during a meeting which is arranged by shoahaib himself. Everything goes perfect until he meets a naive woman, Jasmin. Without knowing much about him she comes close to him in the name of friendship, however, later this friendship turn into enmity when she finds out about shoahaib and his intentions of love for her. Unbeknownst to him, his right hand, aslam also has feelings for her and succeeds when she reciprocates him instead of his mentor, shoahaib. In this place the clash is about to begun between him and his mentor. What happens when shoahaib finds out this and who eventually wins over Jasmin, that's the crux of this story. Upon noticing the plot of this film, you can simply find out that it doesn't really sound like a satisfying gangster flick, isn't it? You're correct. As i hinted before, this film fails to prove its expectations among audience and hence ruins the the prequel drastically. On the other hand it's not fair to tell that it has nothing, because some scenes are really shot well and entertain us in some portions. Furthermore akshay kumar, unexpectedly forgets about his role that he's essaying the role of dreaded gangster, which was outstandingly performed by emraan initially. Beyond fewer plus points, nothing is there in this film. In conclusion i would like to say that people who watched he prequel of this movie must not go for this film which is because it may spoil the reputation of it. people who didn't watch the prequel has fewer possibilities to enjoy this film slightly. So on the whole, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaaras fails to satisfy the intentions and the expectations of the audience completely. Go for it, if you're free and have nothing to do.My Rating for his film - 6/10

ONCE UPON AY TIME IN MUMBAI DOBARA, DOBARA KOI NAI DEKHEGA. I feel sad when good directors, actors, technical staff waste too much money on a big movie and result is this bad. DHOOM and HERAPHERI are the only decent sequels in Hindi in terms of quality. First movie was decent led by AJAY DEVGN and IMRAN. But this is total disaster, biggest problem is in what is this movie about? Is it gangster drama? Or gangster in love? Mentor vs young gangster? Usually I don't like to write a review movies which I found not worth talking but this movie had attention for a different reason. I noticed this pattern in EKTA KAPOOR movies since OUATIMD; they have given too much importance to dialogues. You can clearly see in this movie that classy cheap dialogues have been placed unnecessarily. In first OUATIMD it worked because it had simple story and good actors. This movie lacks story. Acting wise,AKSHAY KUMAR has done good job portraying role of gangster but lack of character depth makes it look funny. IMRAN KHAN has to take tips from JOHN ABRAHAM to choose roles which suit him. He just does not look like a ch awl vala ladka. SONAKSHI SINHA, WHY DO EVEN DIRECTORS BOTHER? Terrible acting, terrible character, and she does not even look pretty in terms of innocent girl kind role. Other actors are wasted due to bad writing.Music of prequel of this one was superb but this one is disappointing. Ye tune kya kia is good but not superb.

I had some hope with the Sequel of a highly engaging Once Upon a time in Mumbai where Devgan Sahab played the role of Haji Mastan flawlessly. This movie follows with the travails of SHoaib (Played by Emraan Hashmi in the first movie). Shoaib is now played by Akshay Kumar, who spares no effort to ham his way through. This was more cringe worthy than Tees Maar Khan, which at least was mildly funny.Casting errors, who was the casting director? Love interest Sonakshi Sinha? You did not find ANYONE else? Also, Imran Khan? Does he look like a gangster from ANY angle? Not to mention that since Shoaib is modelled on Dawood bhai, he seems very vague, moody and very unlike the alpha male he is in real life or even in the original movie. If you watch this movie you would believe gangsters have no better work than romancing girls and going into fights themselves like some sadak chaap taporis. No plot line whatsoever, this movie was highly disappointing.
