Roy (2015)

The movie is really very bad.The direction was bad.The screenplay was weak.I mean it's the worst movie of ranbir kapoor's career.The dialogues were terrible.The story was one kind of worst.But yes The songs were really very nice and beautiful.i gave this movie a 3 stars only because of its music especially tu hai ki nahi was really very nice songs.And the last the acting from Arjin ramps was bad.Jackline can't act much in this movie and yeah ranbir japiir failed in acting too in this film.So guys if you really want to see this movie then see or otherwise don't coz there nothing much good in this really.

This has to be the best Hindi movie I have seen in recent times. This is a very un-bollywood movie so to speak. I understand the majority of the negative review since most of the desi audience and reviewers alike are used to a certain blend of masala movies where one is advised to leave their brains out while watching it. This one is different and keeps us engaged throughout the 2.5 hrs. It's interesting only if one applies some "brain" and try to understand the subtle narrative. I should thank the filmmaker for taking a bold step to make such a "hatke" movie. The movie has a good pace without the usual masala loudness. Some of the songs are out of place .. sorta item numbers trying to attract audience to theater who otherwise wont use their "brain" to watch an interesting movie. But 3 numbers Yaara Re, Boond Boond and Tu Hai Ki Nahi do add to the narrative although not completely sure if the last number was absolutely necessary for the movie. In all have to say this is by far the best movie of 2015 and deserves few awards. For the movie makers, please ignore the negative comments. Desi audience still has to grow out of their Dabanng and other mindless movie culture. You guys have done and excellent job and kudos to you and your talent. It was a pleasure to watch the movie. Thank You

Roy is a movie which talks about the working of a creative mind. writer and director kabir grewal played by Arjun ram pal writes a script for his movie guns part 3 while shooting his film. the movie is moving at the right pace and was not at all boring. Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal are complemented well by Jacqueline Fernandez, the movie is very different from mainstream Bollywood and in future is probably going to be a milestone in Bollywood. the film gives you stints of what you would expect from someone like a David Fincher. I feel that Vikramjit malik should have probably not added those item numbers just to add the Bollywood touch and should have gone all out with his different approach in making films. Nevertheless brilliant movie!. 10/10

Very weak story with a screenplay that competes for weakness. Perfect example of wasting good actors like Arjun Rampal. All actors have done their job quite well so all rotten tomatoes should go to the director. The movie starts out slow and viewer keeps waiting for it to pick up pace and keeps waiting and keeps waiting ... The song Chittiyan Kalaiyan has a nice beat and a reasonable picturization but that's not enough to inject life into the film. Oh yes, there is incessant smoking - not sure whether the director was trying to take out his anger against anti-smoking movement or what. But most cigarette ads are more enjoyable than this stupid movie. I will be on the lookout for this director's movies - safe bet to skip.
