Dead in 5 Heartbeats (2013)

I have never formally reviewed a film before now and I am no expert on being a critic but this film is worth my time to bother as I recommend this film for anyone who likes a good biker flick (of which there are an elite few, in my opinion), anyone who appreciates a good action drama and anyone who appreciates what true family is.After having read the book 'Dead in 5 Heartbeats' by Mr. Sonny Barger, I was excited to find out that the film was being made. And when this independent film went on tour with some of the cast and crew to be shown at various venues throughout the US I took the opportunity to see one of the showings in Cleveland, Ohio. The film did not disappoint me. When it finally came time to be able to pre-order the DVD I happily did that, too.Why did I bother with all that for a film? Well, I like a good story and 'Dead in 5 Heartbeats' is right on. (Not that I have anything to say about what life in a motorcycle club is like because I don't know. I generally ride alone or two-up and most of my friends don't ride motorcycles. But considering who wrote the story and considering most of the various actual m/c members who are in this film, let's just say that I trust them and I trust the source to tell it and portray it the way that it can be.) I just had to see this film and it is something which is an honor for me to support as both a work of art and a just cause, if only in this small way. It matters to me how honestly bikers are portrayed in movies and 'Dead in 5 Heartbeats' does a good with that without being sensationalistic nor having prettied it up.I can't really say much more about 'Dead in 5 Heartbeats' without giving away any spoilers but if you like a good action/adventure/drama and you want to support an unapologetic American independent film then this one is for you. Great story, great soundtrack, well made... 'Dead in 5 Heartbeats' is my favorite biker movie to this date. Now I'm patiently anticipating the sequel...

I found the movies great! I love watching independents break out of the cookie cutter boxes and share their stories. Knowing this film is rooted with the works of an American Legend and real people had me hyped to watch it! "Aren't most people curious about this man?" COME ON! You know you are :-) With this perspective it absolutely did not disappoint me. I was curious, entertained and sometimes shocked. It made me smile, laugh and even cry. While some posted about the quality, I think that is a matter of preference based on how you define quality to begin with. If you want all the latest and greatest technical "FAKE" thrills, then you may not appreciate this film. If you want to support independent film makers trying to get their stories out, bring you real people in real places , (which is quality in my opinion) YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED with this. So are you a people or a sheeple? Your decision, choice and money. But I would suggest you watch it!

Excellent movie!! Is very well done and produced, the acting is excellent, the presentation of the DVD's are awesome and very elegant, Reality and fiction played by real motorcycle members in real clubhouses. I highly recommend this movie. A great sample of love and respect, for those who doesn't know about life inside a motorcycle club brotherhood is a very enlightening sample of how members care about each others and how respect and love is always what matters. Very well done, Freedom, independence, support, honor, integrity, that's what is all about.I hope there's more movies like this one coming soon and I would like to congratulate the producers and directors of this great DVD. Thank you!

As a biker and a indie movie lover this movie is awesome! While the acting may be rough it didn't do any damage to the movie as a whole. It's a great look at real bikers, and the movie doesn't fail to entertain. It's a great movie with depth and character! The thing to remember while watching is this is a pure independent movie, not just another Hollywood cookie cutter devise that has the "indie" label slapped on it in order to attract a certain demographic. This movie accomplishes what it sets out to do, that is tell a story that entertains and attracts. The fine polished touches that are in the usual blockbuster schlock are not present, what is left is a gritty film that has no apologies nor should it.
