Hindi Medium (2017)

A movie made in India but every person around the world can relate himself/herself to the theme of this wonderful piece of work which is based on the fact that, we live in a world where your class/standard is determined by the language you speak (and not just language by the way) and this movie honestly portrays the challenges faced by those who are discarded from the main stream just on the basis of the language they speak. The best thing about this movie is that it perfectly delivers this important message without lacking anywhere in the entertainment front (filled with humor and brilliant acting). I am sure you will fall in love with this Raj & Mitthu (sorry "Honey") pair instantly. Irfan as the obedient and madly in love with his wife kind of husband and Saba Qamar as a demanding and dominating wife is such a fun to watch. This movie will revive your faith in Indian Cinema which has been damaged by many Indian Superstars who cash on their loyal fan followings for grand box office collection with nothing to offer in return (a descent and original piece of work is what we expect)."Talent speaks the language of a genius, surprisingly it's not the languages we all speak."

Initially movie sets out to make a case about India's obsession with English and education in English medium and then quietly slips into the topic of nursery admissions. Beginning of film gives context on how Raj became rich despite lacking proper education, which is much appreciated. Then we meet meeta- an the over protective mother. Script writer(s) couldn't stop themselves from vilifying the head of Delhi Grammar School which is typical of Bollywood movies. The movie portrays all rich people as callous (or perhaps even evil) and all poor people as friendly neighbor, another hallmark of bollywood movies. If one sets out to find cliche in this movie there are just too many. However, the puns just seem to work. Deepak Dobriyal shines brighter than Irrfan khan. I enjoyed watching the whole movie but it doesn't mean I agree with the message of the movie. Just like a character in movies says 'garibi ek din me smjh nhi ayegi', the film makers don't get why Government school keep getting worse.

With the utter non-sense of movies plaguing Bollywood these days, it was a fresh breeze to watch this gem of a movie. Really brings back my faith that Bollywood still has people who know the art of telling a story.If you have not watched this, take my word and watch it. You will not regret.

I can't understand why people like it.I am not giving it 1 out of 10 because I want to balance the score. This movie Deserve Zero stars and since it is not available, I have to use the other option.This movie is Packed with the worst acting of Irrfan Khan. other I don't even know their name so, why bother.And when I say Acting is bad. I mean Really really really BAD.But the story is Worst of all.And Not even a single funny moment. This movie is Trash. Not even a single funny moment. A cliché story. So, here it goes. 'Hindi Medium' Synopsis: A couple from Chandni Chowk aspire to give their daughter the best education and thus try be a part of and accepted by the elite of Delhi.Now, The mother is quite annoying. And have a lot of Inferiority complex. She is talking to her daughter in only Hindi Language.And expect her daughter to suddenly become bi Lingual and sending her to an elite English Medium school is the way to go.Are you Kidding me.And the Elite school will not take her in because of some weird reason.Come on, if you can through that expensive party then you can buy your child a decent education in this world. Is it that difficult to get through your thick skull. And the ending is even preposterous. Are you trying to make fun of Government school then it is fine.But, You need to understand that their is no way With the limited resources at their disposal They could even think of giving that kind of performance on stage.Studying at an average Government School in India is not a decision anyone will make for their children.It's just utter waste of time.You do realize the Teacher are not well paid at those school and hence Children are force to join so, called Coaching Institute. Just to memorize Basic stuff to pass the Class.Well, I guess the people who pay to watch this movie didn't realize that fact. Anyway Happy living in your Bubble People. just forget about reality it doesn't matter anyway.
