This is by far one of the best thriller movie of Hindi. I don't understand why it did not receive the amount of success it deserved. Irfan,Arjun,Huma,Shruti & Rishi all did great job.So as the director Nikhil Advani. As a crime drama, it works perfectly well.Very gripping story.D-Day is a well-researched, purposefully executed film. Much of the action takes places in 'actual' Karachi locations - the red light district of Napier Road, the busy thoroughfare of Empress Market and the environs of Qasim Port, among others. The back stories and the emotional compulsions of the secret agents form a significant component of the story line. Some songs are also great like Alvida,Dhuaan.A must watch movie, just go for it.

Plot: 3 RAW Agents and a Criminal team up to bring back India's most wanted man back to India. Are they successful? Writing: Nikhil Advani (best known for his only good film 'Kal Ho Naa Ho') makes a very successful attempt on this spy film. The story has absolutely no flaws. The things that RAW agents go through are very nicely shown.Acting: All of the actors ranging from Rishi Kapoor to Irrfan, Huma Qureshi to Arjun Rampal, Chandan Roy to Akash Dahiya have given great performances.Action: Not much scenes of action. But yes not over the top. Decent action.Songs: Not great. Could have been a song less film. Alvida is a good song.Favorite scene: Rishi Kapoor's last dialogue after being caught.Verdict: A must watch for all spy thriller lovers like me. Still I give it a full 10/10. 9/10.

Nowdays many films are being made showcasing Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim, earlier too we had glimpses of him in Black Friday, Shootout at Lokhandwala and also Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. D Day is made by Nikhil Advani who debutted with Kal Ho Naa Ho and then made flop films like CCTC and Patiala House but he makes a comeback in a diverse genre and makes D DAY. The film does remind one of Zero Dark Thirty but yet it's superbly handled and not just copy paste stuff. Nor does it end up being a typical Hindi film, actually the treatment is very different and looks like a Hollywood film. The film starts superbly and you need to keep your attention on the film as it isn't your typical commercial film. The pace is swift and the scenes are superb. The scenes involving Irrfan, Huma are superbly handled though the prostitute track could be avoided yet it is well handled. The way the story transforms till the end is superbly handledDirection by NA is superb Music in limited doses is good though situational Duma Dumb is superb though Rajpal's antics are out of placeRishi Kapoor in yet another grey shaded role after Agneepath and Aurangzeb is superb in his role, He proves yet again why he is in demand Arjun Rampal is superb in his role, Irrfan Khan steals the show with a superb performance, Huma Qureshi is excellent in her part Shruti Hassan is good, Nassar is good too Chandan Roy Sanyal last seen in Kaminey is superb rest are adequate

coming of age cinema is being churned out every other week with directors experimenting with different themes with likes of lootera n now d-day. This flick from bollywood stables is such a breath of fresh air, with its spy cum action theme. Right from the word go, director has managed to keep the things tight n keep the audience glued to their seats ably complemented by the good acts of arjun rampal, rishy kapoor(the businessman) n irfan khan.. Special mention n praises to both the lead actors who keep the momentum going.. Also noteworthy is the background score which helps the movie in a big way, especially alvida where the hero puts into pieces the slaying of his love interest, beautifully done.. Though the film weakens post interval but the "Changing India" ending does make up for it... recommended...
