When I saw this movie-great movie-back in 2006 when I lived in Washington DC and attended the George Washington University; I watched it with an African American Woman who was a fellow college student. I loved the movie-one of the best Boston movies behind Live By Night featuring Ben Affleck. The first thing my buddy Alexandria said about the movie was this: " I love-sarcastically-how the only Black Woman feature in the film was a whore"! I never thought about it until I saw the movie again that she was right. There were very few Black Woman features in this movie but the only main one featured Jack Nicholson and a Black Prostitute in the theater. What is up with that?

The Departed has Scorsese return to his Italian mafia roots and the film is an absolute blast. Featuring a bucket load of talent both in front and behind the camera Departed was a remake of a Hong Kong movie Infernal Affairs. Set in Boston and involving the FBI and moles this is a film that will make you never trust the good cops again. It makes you realize almost everyone is corrupt to a degree. Mark Whalberg, Leonardo Di Caprio and Matt Damon are in top form and ably guided by legends like Jack Nicholson and Martin Sheen.

Leo, jack, Matt, mark, Martin, Alec. Enough said? No? Ok. Directed by Scorcese, it's a classic already. It's a must see!
