It's a good family movie with humour that both kids and adults can appreciate. However, for someone who remembers the Snow White Disney classic movies as a huge part of their childhood, the movie doesn't seem to take the tale all that seriously. Jokes aren't just sprinkled here and there throughout the movie, the film is basically built off of them. Serious moments are usually ended quickly when either the evil queen starts being her very clichéd stuck up self, or her right hand man somehow messes up and gets punished in a weird way (like being turned into a cockroach for some odd reason). Also, the queen's attempt to seduce the prince being foiled by a 'puppy love' potion that makes him act like a literal dog and then this being solved by true loves kiss was frankly just badly written in my opinion. All in all, if you're trying to find a good movie for your kids and yourself to enjoy or to just get a few laughs, this is not a bad movie. If you're looking for a serious spin on a classic tale, maybe just stick to the Disney version.

too criticize it is very easy. Lily Collins is far to be the perfect choice for Snow White, Julia Roberts gives a too strange character. Nathan Lane is the only OK. other actor was the better choice for the Prince. the great problem is to analyse too serious each aspect of movie and ignore its humor. because , against expectations, it is a comedy. not the best but charming and real comfortable. its target - a large public. its purpose - not to propose a parody but another manner to discover a classic fairy tale. and the result is far to be bad. the costumes, the evil queen who is only a poor woman in a delicate period. Snow White who is only a child who becomes the brave woman, the prince who has not the chance to be more than himself, the costumes, songs and adventures, all as ideal package for a lovely gift. for a year in which Snow White was disputed by two adaptations, Mirror Mirror propose a nice way to discover the old fairy tale in a colorful and real nice manner.

Please watch this movie with an open mind. This is not the traditional fairy-tale story you remembered; instead it's a fairy tale with a modern twist. It has great humour, great acting (especially from Julia Roberts, she rules the screen), and good story-telling. It touches on gender equality by portraying Snow White as an intelligent and determinate woman, and not just a pretty one. These qualities of Snow White are developed through plot development, although rushed at some point, overall they was convincing. In recent years we have observed a large amount of fairy-tale remakes that attempts to match modern time morality standards and tastes. This movie, in my opinion, is the best fairy tale-reshaped of them all.

Just saw this on TV April 2016. Loved it!!! Lots of cute humor, using modern expressions. Loved the scenery, costumes and cinematography. Nathan Lane was perfect....spot on. Great to see a different side to Ms. Roberts. The ending song, performed with a modern flare, and the accompanying music video were quite unexpected and fun to watch. This version of Snow White can be most appreciated by older adults who have grown tired of the vulgarity and villains that inhabit most movies and TV. At 56, I want a bit of positive escapism!!! Hats off to the production crew for making every detail in this movie count. I was amazed at the creativity of the sets and costumes!!!
