Philips99us wrote a good review: I agree fully with his opinion. What he noticed was just that what makes it a good film: interesting about what love can do to people in general. The dialogues, written by someone who knows his craft, are about what really matters in this film. Technically very well made on all aspects. Special attention was given to the soundtrack with beautifull songs. You could think sometimes: were they composed especially for this movie? Only one time I was amazed: why not a real kind of attention by the husband can be seen at the end of the movie to his wife when she (Meryl Streep) shows deep emotions in the car on the way home after seeing for the last time her love "for four days"? Fascinating acting by Clint Eastwood, once played a cowboy in Rawhide in the sixties... And also, as always, by Meryl Streep: what an art of acting: wonderfull!

I surely hope that the responses to this movie is NOT a true representation of the thinking and devotion of that of our generation. I could only hope & pray that we are a better nation of true love and devotion. I certainly understand that we are human, just like Adam & Eve. But why do we spend the effort, time, energy and money to beautify our weaknesses? In my opinion, it is a movie that tries to justify and beautify our lust. It seems to be Eastwood's cup of tea. What will happen if we, the audience and actors as well in general, will glorify these creations and allow it to grow in volume and in the much cheaper and lustful way..

The Bridges Of Madison County (1995)Plot In A Paragraph: Photographer Robert Kincaid (Eastwood) wanders into the life of housewife Francesca Johnson (An Oscar Nominated Meryl Streep) for four days in the 1960s.I can think of this movie without remembering a viscous fight with my childhood sweetheart!! As we got in to a heated argument just before we went in to see the movie!! I sat through the full movie in a foul mood, and I hated it!! I didn't rewatch it till last year!! It just goes to show how your mood can effect your enjoyment of a movie. I don't expect many here to have seen this movie, but I think it's wonderfully absorbing. The one nit pick I have is the scenes with Francesca's children in present day, slow it down and the movie is less interesting when they are on the screen. The Bridges Of Madison County grossed $71 million at the domestic box office to end 1995 as the 21st highest grossing movie of the year.

The film tells the four day love story of World-traveling National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid and Francesca Johnson. When the daughter and son of the late Francesca Johnson return home for the funeral arrangements. They find out Francesca's diary that contains all the secrets.Another spectacular movie from Clint Eastwood. The scenes between Francesca and Robert were built slowly and the effect was very intense. Streep gets the center of attraction in the whole movie. Richard's screenplay has a slight modification of Streep character and make it a strong personality. Overall, it's a beautiful romantic movie, which is going to remain as a special one for a long time.
